Mookie was voted out Thursday night, so it’s time for his Early Show appearance on Friday morning. Host Harry Smith introduces the segment by talking about how Mookie and Alex were discussing plans when Cassandra and Stacy overheard them. He kind of misses the point, though, that the two ladies didn’t hear what they were saying.

Anyway, we relive Mookie searching through Yau-Man’s bag and finding the hidden immunity idol, the actual spying incident, and Mookie’s torch-snuffing.

Now we’re in the studio with Smith describing it as one of the great scenes on Survivor. I’m not sure Mookie would agree! He says it definitely caught him by surprise. They had come up with a good scheme and… Well, and Harry shows that he doesn’t really watch the show by saying, “They heard every word, too.” No, they didn’t, as they specifically said on Thursday night’s show. Is it really too much to ask for the people doing these interviews to actually watch the show? Idiot.

Ironically, Smith next says he has not watched every single minute of every episode. Noooo? Really? And then he asks how many immunity idols are out there. Again, is it too much to ask that this guy actually watches so he can ask even semi-intelligent questions rather than stupid time-wasting ones? Anyway, Mookie patiently says he had one and Yau-Man had one.

Smith asks how badly Dreamz screwed them over. Another brilliant question, considering Mookie probably wouldn’t be there right now if not for Dreamz. Mookie says if there is a word to describe “traitor” to the nth degree, that would be it. He picked the wrong person to trust. Also, if he had come to them and apologized, saying it was just part of the game, it would have been better. But he didn’t – he’s just a traitor.

What about Alex, who voted against him in his final Tribal Council? “Alex is a good guy.” He didn’t know Alex had voted against him until later.

Smith says it’s been a pretty ruthless season. How the hell would he know?! But Mookie says there has been a lot of betrayal and people switching sides. Stacy even said at one point that she didn’t want to give them food. So, yes, he does agree some people have been ruthless.

Smith says they “always” have a secret scene, which those of us who watch every week know is not actually true. But here is this week’s: Mookie is asking Yau-Man what his impression of him is. Yau-Man says he thought Mookie was playing the game from day one, over-strategizing, etc. Mookie apparently talks about how their alliance has been broken and he’s just waiting to be voted off. But Yau-Man isn’t buying it, telling us that it’s not like him and they need to stay on their toes.

Back in the studio, Smith asks Mookie if there is a point where you just have to admit defeat. He says there does come a point where you have to open yourself up and put the game to the side, but at the same time always have the game in mind. At that time, he was hoping he could get Yau-Man to open up and maybe spill some secrets. Smith says, “He’s a player!” and Mookie agrees that Yau-Man is “a smart guy.”

How was the experience overall? It was great. He thinks he really played the game, though obviously it didn’t turn out the way he wanted.

Smith says since coming back, Mookie has been involved in charitable work. Mookie says it’s called Active Chicago Foundation, which helps underprivileged children. And with that, it’s goodbye to Mookie.
