America’s Next Top Model 8, Episode 9: It’s A G’Day For A Go-See!

When the girls get back home, Tyra mail is waiting for them. Tomorrow they will meet with the judges and one of them is going home. Jaslene wants Renee to go home because she’s hungry for the money and too old. Dionne isn’t sure who is going home or staying and Brittany says that she did great during the photo shoot this week and she’ll probably be safe this week and out of the bottom two. Yeah, like that’s not the kiss of death!

Just like every week, the girls walk into panel, are reminded of the prizes and meet the judges, including guest judge Priscilla. Uh-oh! This can’t be good for Brittany since Priscilla got to hear Brittany’s string of expletives. Time for individual evaluations, and Brittany is first!

Brittany steps forward and Tyra says that this week the girls went on go-sees. However, Brittany didn’t make it back in time and she was disqualified. Priscilla says that Brittany needs to work on containing her emotions. Tyra adds that the designers said they would never hire Brittany. Not one of them! Twiggy can’t believe it and Tyra says that Brittany’s energy didn’t click. They look at her photos and both are loved, though. Ms. J. tells Brittany to can it with the tears.

Natasha steps forward and she didn’t make it back either. She handled it well, though. The judges look at her photos and feel that she doesn’t really come off as porno, which is what they expected. Tyra says that she was a pleasure at the photo shoot and she did a great job this week.

Jaslene won the challenge! Her men’s magazine photo is loved by the judges, and as for the women’s magazine photo, everyone feels it’s very soft. She looks great too, so there are no complaints at all this week about Jaslene. She looks amazing!

Dionne is next and the judges say that she looks mean. Even after they tell her this, she does three poses and they all look the same – mean! They tell her that she needs to relax, and it needs to show in her photos as well, which the judges like, other than looking mean.

Finally, we have Renee. The judges look at her men’s magazine photo and they love it! I have to admit too, she looks amazing in the photos this week! In her woman’s photo, the judges think she looks very graceful and really came out of her shell this week.

It’s time to deliberate, and this is what the judges have to say:

Natasha – Ms. J. thinks that Natasha is great and can be sexy without even trying. Priscilla loves her too and knows that she wants to win. Tyra says that she was a pleasure this week and is constantly growing.

Brittany – She is very photogenic, but she needs to work on meeting with clients, according to Twiggy, because she’s putting people off. Nobody seems to like her walk or personality and Nigel says you can have the full package, but if you don’t have the personality, it’s over.

Jaslene – She’s well on her way and Ms. J. adores her. Twiggy says that she is the opposite of Brittany and that she’s sensational and versatile.

Dionne – She had the weakest of all the photos this week according to Twiggy and Nigel wants her to shake the look. Tyra thinks that Dionne is going backwards again and they need to get her back up to the level she should be at.

Renee – Priscilla says that she’s a bit too commercial, but when she saw her photos this week, she thought twice about that. Tyra thinks that of all the girls, Renee could make the most money, but she’s scared that Renee would be stuck as a commercial girl for the rest of her career.

The five girls walk back into panel and Tyra says that she only has photos for four of them. The first name called this week is Jaslene, and she’s happy to finally be at the top of the pack again. Tyra tells her she did a great job, and then calls Natasha, telling her that she is improving more and more each week, but really needs to work on relaxing her neck.

Renee is called next and told that she consistently takes good photos, but they are beginning to think she is becoming a bit too commercial and safe. Dionne and Brittany step forward and are told that the girl that is not called will need to pack her bags and head back to the United States!

Brittany is told that she has taken some of the best photos this season. However, this week, none of the designers said they would book her, and in the modeling world, if you can’t book, then you don’t exist. Dionne has taken nice photos, but the judges are coming to an understanding that she needs to be coached a bit too much, but the clients would have booked her! So who goes home – the girl who needs coaching but is loved in Sydney, or the girl that doesn’t need to be coached but can’t book a job?

Naturally, Dionne is called out. Did anyone expect Brittany to stick around? Dionne is told that she’s not as strong as Brittany, but she does have a beauty and light about her that she needs to soften and show. Brittany gives her hugs and heads back to the hotel. She says that she knows she has a lot to work on and is really shocked at how emotional she got. She’ll miss the whole thing and says it was a great opportunity and a lot of fun. I thought I’d miss her, but I really don’t think I will.

Next week, the girls do some storytelling and work with the Aborigines. That should be fun! Also, when Natasha gets sick and the other girls go out, Renee starts plotting of ways to get rid of her! Does that even work on this show? Here’s how I’m ranking the final four:
