The Real World: Denver – The Reunionby Jill Jones -- 05/24/2007
View Printable version of this article And through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode. Suddenly that isn't true; there's another avenue beckoning the great divide. Ask no questions; take no side. Who's to say who's right or wrong, whose course is braver run. Still we are, have always been will ever be as one. “Friends Never Say Goodbye” – Elton John I barely got through that with a straight face! I think you know what I’m getting at though with these lyrics… it’s time for The Real World: Denver reunion show! Are the roommates still BFFs? Is everyone keeping in touch? Let’s get the answers to these and other questions. I’m tingly! The show opens with our host Susie saying, “Wud up.” Oh, my. She then takes us down memory lane by showing clips of the roommates’ goodbyes. That was only a week ago, so I’m pretty confident that we remember how it went down. Davis says that everyone was in love when the show ended. Tyrie says that nobody calls him. Clips of the roommates fighting are now shown. Stephen says that he was always on Brooke’s side when she and Colie fought. I’m distracted though; Colie’s head looks larger tonight. Tyrie tells Colie that her bitch level went up and up. To prove him wrong, she gets snippy with Alex and he’s doing nothing but sitting there. Next, clips of Davis gossiping are shared with us. Davis tells Susie that he’s bad, but he didn’t lie while in the house. He eventually owns up to some of the nasty things that he did. Colie begins to act holier than thou, so Davis points out to her that she also talked about people. Oh, no, he didn’t! This program is like déjà vu! Clips of Brooke having her breakdowns are shown. She explains to Susie that this is just how she is and there are others like her in the world. The only difference is that she’s brave enough to go on television and show her true colors. Clips of Brooke and Davis flirting are now shown. I gag a little. When the clips end, Brooke and Davis are kissing. Susie asks if Davis and Brooke sealed the deal, and Davis says that he’s not going to tell. He also states that he and Brooke tried to date. It appears that he’s kidding, but some of the roommates fall for it. Susie asks Stephen about his feelings toward homosexuals and their lifestyle. He mentions that gay people choose how they are and Davis clearly disagrees with him. Stephen says something about Davis taking his head out of his ass and Tyrie puts an end to it. Meanwhile, Alex hasn’t said a word. Davis explains that his relationship with his mom is still rocky. Also, she only watched one episode of the show and it was the one in which she appeared. Davis says that his mom contacted him several months ago and suggested that the two of them go to family counseling. He agreed, but later found out that the person they were seeing is really a sex therapist. He hasn’t spoken to his mom since January. Clips of the roommates kissing various people are shown. I feel so dirty. The roommates remind us that Jenn and Brooke were the first people in the house to kiss each other. That Brooke is so crazy! The discussion now goes to the bizarre love triangle of Alex, Jenn, and Colie. When Susie asks Colie why she went back to Alex after he hooked up with Jenn, Alex finally speaks and says that it’s hard to turn away from love. That’s priceless. Susie tells Alex that he’s being very quiet. He decides to speak up and says that he’s lucky because Jenn and Colie are hot, and he hooked up with both of them. He also explains that his purpose for being on the show wasn’t to grow. Everyone then talks about how many times Alex hit it during the season despite the fact that he lacks game. Colie then makes a comment about how Alex was cast for her and Jenn. She also says something dumb about black people. Blah, blah, blah. Stephen tells us that his girlfriend Mercii broke up with him, but that they later reconciled. Clips of the roommates working with Outward Bound are played. Tyrie says that where he comes from, people don’t climb rocks; they jump fences. Ha! Stephen and Tyrie both express their dislike for the job at first. Brooke tells Susie that it was insane that she repelled down a mountain. She also says that she’s grateful for the roommates being behind her. Susie tells us that Jeep gave a vehicle to Tyron—one of the kids who participated in the Outward Bound program—and Tyrie had the pleasure of delivering it. Tyrie is still in touch with Tyron. He wants to help him achieving his goals. That’s wonderful. This leads into clips of Tyrie fighting with Jazalle. He tells Susie that there is no way to spin what he did to look good. Public peeing is a crime that hurts everyone. Tyrie explains that he didn’t want to be “the angry black man.” Jenn says that the director of the Raiderettes wasn’t happy with her behavior on the show. Stephen tells Susie that nobody at his church was disappointed in how he acted on the program. Susie pimps www.realworldcasting.com and explains how it works. If this 38-year-old applies, will you vote for me? One guy has a tattoo of a penis on his arm and a girl offers *^%$# for votes. I guess there’s no way I can compete with that. Clips of the roommates acting crazy and stupid are shown. I’ll give you the highlights:
Susie tells us that next week, we’ll be treated to The S#@T They Should Have Shown. Well, if they should have shown it already, why didn’t they? Huh? She closes the show by saying, “We outta here.” I feel my life slowly getting back to normal. That’s a wrap! It was a long season, but I hope you enjoyed my recaps as much as I enjoyed providing them to you. Take care and remember that this isn’t goodbye; it’s only a farewell.
