Big Brother 8, July 19 Live Feeds: The MRA Is MIA!by Austin Sutherland -- 07/20/2007
View Printable version of this article Good morning, houseguests! Today is the day of the second live eviction and the next HOH competition. The houseguests move to a lockdown up in the HOH room at 9:00 am and don’t return downstairs for about two hours. Nick and Zach discuss the possibility of targeting Dick for eviction, but decide they’d rather see Joe leave, and they know they need to get Mike to do the same. Nick goes and tells Mike that he should vote out Joe because Joe’s targets would be Mike and Kail if he were to win HOH. Mike realizes that he’s a target either way. Joe is running around the house talking to combinations of Nick, Mike, and Zach and thinks he has enough votes at least to force a tie. Joe and Jen go into the storage room and continue talking about votes. They both seem to believe that Nick is the crucial vote and if he votes for Joe to stay, he’ll stay. Jen wishes that Kail were on a different side because she hates being around her negative energy. At about 4:30, Joe begins getting the hint that he could be leaving. Jameka tells him that she is going to vote to keep Dick and that others may be lying to him about how they’re voting. Just before five o’clock, the houseguests gather on the living room couch and the live show begins. As we saw on the Thursday night episode, by a vote of nine to one, Joe was evicted from the Big Brother house. Following the eviction, the other nominee Dick won the HOH. (And Friday morning, RealityNewOnline spoke to Joe about his time in the house.) Daniele and Dick talk about the HOH competition and Daniele finds it interesting that she almost put 122 hours, which would have given her the win. Daniele asks her dad Dick if he’s going to nominate Kail, and he says yes. Everyone seems to agree that Kail’s campaigning to get rid of Dick the day before is going to cause her a lot of problems. Dick is so excited that he won HOH, he says he wants to get naked and do cartwheels around the backyard. Kail and Mike gather to talk and discuss strategy. They want to tell Dick that Nick is a liar and a backstabber. Kail also tells Mike that she would have liked to know that he had changed his vote from Dick to Joe, and Mike apologizes for not letting her know. Just after 8:30, Dick gets the key to his new HOH room and the houseguests go check out pictures of his son and friends. Daniele remembers one of the pictures from her childhood. A lot of the houseguests remain in the HOH room and Dick says that everyone in the room has a free pass. His intentions are to put up Kail and Jen, and then replace a removed nominee with Mike if it comes to that. Later, at dinner, Dick announces to the whole house how happy he is that he has their support and he mentions how this is going to be a great week. Kail approaches Dick multiple times throughout the night asking for some time to talk, and Dick keeps saying that they’ll talk later. Kail then decides to chat with Amber and Dustin. She tells them that her four-person alliance backed out on her and left her as the only one voting to evict Dick, and because of that she’s the biggest target. She was trying to do what was right for her alliance and she got no help. Nick tells Amber that he broke ties with the Mrs. Robinson alliance when he learned that sticking with it meant that he had to vote out Daniele. Amber tells Nick that Kail is freaking out and he loves it! Soon after, when Jameka is called to the diary room, some houseguests write Happy Birthday Jameka with some edible gel on the counter since her birthday is tomorrow. Eric bets Jessica that he could lick the whole thing up in one lick, and says if he does, Jess needs to suck whipped cream off of his nipples. He does it, and she does not back down on her task. Kail finally gets the chance to talk to Dick alone. Dick tells Kail that there’s no deal she can cut that will save her from being nominated. Dick had planned to hold to an agreement to keep her safe, until he found out that she was campaigning against him. Kail tries the same sob story of being abandoned by her allies, looking for sympathy from Dick. Dick tells her that if she hadn’t messed up, Jen would be going home, but now, if Kail doesn’t win the power of veto, she is out no matter what. Eric is talking with Amber and has some pretty harsh words for Joe. He says that he’s so glad that Joe is gone because Eric hates him on a personal and game level. Eric’s happy to see him embarrassed, thinking he was the brains of the house and out week two. Jess, Dick, and Eric are sitting outside in the backyard and all of them are beginning to get a bad feeling about Nick. They think that he may actually be playing Daniele, but they really hope not. Until they have proof, they don’t think they should confront Nick or bring it up to Daniele. Dick heads into the HOH room where Daniele is waiting for him. Dick tells his daughter that he just wants her to be careful because he does not want her to be the Erica of Big Brother 8. She tells him not to worry, they’re just friends, but she trusts him 100%. It isn’t until about 5:45 am when all the houseguests are in their beds. Dick let a lot of the girls who were on slop last week sleep in the HOH room. Goodnight, houseguests!
