Age Of Love, Episode 7: And They Massaged Each Other, Happily Ever Afterby Matthew Turcotte -- 08/01/2007
View Printable version of this article - George Bernard Shaw Last time on Age Of Love, five women went out with Mark on a California-style camping trip. Each of the five women showed a side of themselves that Mark had never seen before. Jen showed us that it takes a lot for her to get hurt by others. Maria showed us that she has a fiery temper. Megan showed us just how much she couldn't handle her alcohol. Amanda showed us how bold she was by sneaking into Mark's tent. And, unfortunately for Jayanna, her cocky attitude cost her a chance to be with Mark when Mark called her out on how she was playing games with the rest of the women in the house. With just four women left, who will be sent home next? We begin at the 40th floor suite, just after eliminations. Maria turns to Jen and exclaims that she looks like she lost her best friend. Jen admits that Jayanna's elimination was shocking. Jayanna made it easier for her to be there. Jen also admits her disdain for Mark in a sense by stating that if she didn't know Mark, she would hate him for what he did to her friend. Ah, but Jen, this is a dating show. If Jayanna wasn't eliminated, she would still be competition for you. Besides, it's not Jen's fault that Mark saw through her the way he did. There seems to be a message on the television for the girls. It actually displays a blue button that instructs the girls to push to start the movie. I think it would have been better if they posted a note that said "Play me!" but then again, I suppose Big Brother 8 will have plenty of opportunities for that. Anyway, the four women gather around on the couch to watch the video, which turns out to be a parting message from Jayanna. Apparently, it takes place in the forest where they went camping. Keep in mind that at the last elimination, the woman who was cut was abandoned in the forest. I wonder how Jayanna got home. Proving to the girls (and the viewing audience) just how bitter she feels about her elimination, she proceeds to offer a warning to three of the four girls left. Don't trust Amanda. I'm serious. Jayanna completely bashes Amanda and her credibility to the stunned group. She wastes no time in talking about how Amanda feels a need to run to Mark to tell him lies about her. Jayanna claims she gave Amanda advice which was used against her in a derogatory manner, and she finds it pathetic, sad, and super-immature. She ends the video by saying that she's glad that she doesn't have to be in a house with someone like Amanda while she smiles in her face. We see the reactions from some of the women. Jen sits there, pensively, while Megan is stunned. Amanda just sits there in shock. But, then she proceeds to mock Jayanna by pretending to smile for the camera. Amanda claims that Jayanna is the pathetic one, and that no matter what she says, her opinions won't change. Megan exclaims that at 40, Jayanna should just get over it. Jen wasn't aware that Amanda told Mark about what Jayanna had said, but isn't worried. In regards to Amanda, Jen holds a belief that what comes around, goes around. In this case, I'm gonna have to side with Amanda on this one. Whether Amanda was trying to be devious by telling Mark about Jayanna's motives isn't exactly clear. Jayanna, however, decided to say goodbye to the girls by completely tearing a strip off one of them. Not exactly the classiest way to go, Jayanna. In the bachelor suite, Mark is playing with his dog, Kia. He talks about how he has four beautiful women left, and that it is getting harder and harder to eliminate people. You think? He plans to make his choice easier by taking the girls on three separate dates. The first date is planned for Amanda and Maria, and there will be some sexy salsa dancing in their future. When Maria and Amanda get the news of their date, we see a montage of them trying to figure out what to wear. Amanda plans to incorporate some extra effort into impressing Mark on this date. She doesn't want to go home. Mark reflects on his choices. He chose Maria because he likes how she goes with the flow, and her good vibes. On the flip side, he loves looking at Amanda's eyes, and says she is a great girl. Mark arrives with Maria and Amanda at the salsa club, where they see a couple making the most of the experience. There's swinging, and swooshing, and fancy footwork, and Mark is incredibly nervous about it all. Amanda interviews that Mark may know the tennis court, but the dance floor is an entirely different situation for him. Mark gets worried when he realizes the guy leads the dance, and he doesn't think he can do it. That's great. What better way to impress a woman by taking them on a date that you know nothing about! The dancers who the three are watching end their dance, and introduce themselves. The woman is named Lisa (at least that's what the closed captioning device I have says, so I'm going with that) and her partner is named Walter Emmanuel, who is introduced as a national dancer. I'll have to take their word for it. I don't know a thing about dancing other than who won Dancing With the Stars. At any rate, we see a montage of Lisa and Walter teaching everyone how to salsa dance. They claim that it's just like walking. Amanda doesn't seem worried. After all, her age gives her an advantage, or so Amanda tells us. 1 2 3 4 5 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
