“I Was Much Too Overconfident” – An Interview with Big Brother 8’s Dustinby David Bloomberg -- 08/17/2007
View Printable version of this article With the evicted houseguests now going into sequester, their time for interviews is short. But we got some brief answers from Dustin about the topics we’re interested in. RealityNewsOnline: Hello, Dustin and thanks for taking the time to answer these questions for RealityNewsOnline. Let’s start with the question people were probably screaming at their TV sets: Why did you play the pawn strategy when it so often fails in Big Brother? Dustin: I was much too overconfident in that role and I put all my chips in one play. [Indeed, because of Dustin’s overconfident – some would say arrogant – move, he has now been inducted into the Reality TV Hall of Shame.] RNO: How surprised were you to be on the losing end of the vote? Dustin: Shocked, stunned, disturbed, yet relieved. RNO: Who do you think turned on you, and why? Dustin: Eric. Eric’s alliance with Jen was true and the two of them collectively saw me as a great threat. Also, Zach caught wind that I was stringing him along and put an end to it. [Of course, viewers know that it was indeed Eric, but Dustin is completely wrong about his claim of an alliance between Eric and Jen. Instead, it’s an alliance between Eric and all of America! As for Zach, well, he just did what Jessica told him to do.] RNO: Going back to the beginning, what was your strategy coming into the game and how did it change once you got to the house? Dustin: My strategy remained the same, lay low weeks 1-3, play dumb, see how others play, and then make my moves accordingly. RNO: Joe was evicted very early, while you made sequester. What do you have to say to him? Dustin: Same thing then that I do now. Nothing. RNO: What is your opinion of Dick and the way he acted? Dustin: My opinion of Dick has always been low, since the very first day. He continued to play the role of the 44-year-old kindergartener from the moment he walked into the house. What grown man still laughs at his farts? He will get what is coming to him. RNO: What do you think of the game play of Jessica, Jen, and Eric? Dustin: It was smart for those three to do what they did. Shameless, but smart. [Once again, we see that Dustin is making assumptions that aren’t true. Indeed, I didn’t expect him to read something into my question as if the three of them were allies – I just wanted to know what he thought about them individually!] RNO: Is there anything else you want to tell us about your time in the Big Brother house? Dustin: Nah, not now. RNO: Thanks again, Dustin! Do you want to see the live feeds yourself?
