Big Brother 9, February 23 Live Feeds: Wasting Away in Margaritaville

by Teeuwynn Woodruff -- 02/24/2008
The houseguests get a margarita party Saturday after the emergency situations Friday. And everyone’s off slop for the day! Should put them all in a good mood, right? Riiiigght. One of the couples has a humongous fight today, while it becomes clearer which pair will most likely get evicted this week. Could Matt & Natalie (right) be involved in either of those things? Warning: This article contains spoiler information!

James and Chelsia were up in the Head of Household bedroom canoodling and chit-chatting until after four in the morning. Whee! Most everyone else in the house had a pretty early night last night due to the hospital drama. (What? You missed yesterday’s live feed coverage?) At around 8:30 in the morning, Allison gets called into the Diary Room to get her medications for her allergic reaction. Ryan asks her how it went when she climbs back in bed with him.

Things are pretty quiet in the house for the next couple of hours. The houseguests snooze and the camera folks go back and forth between various sleeping couples. Finally, around 10:30 am, Joshuah wakes up and wanders around the house in his underwear. Ryan is also up. He gets ready for the day and heads outside for a cigarette. What a healthy way to start the day.

Alex gets up and runs into Joshuah in the kitchen. Joshuah says that he and Sharon might take Alex & Amanda off the block today (as they have the Power of Veto). Joshuah then turns back to the taco salad he is making. Most of the rest of the houseguests are also getting up at this time. Amanda comes in and gets Ryan to yank off her band aid. It hurts, but she wanted it off after the whole hospital thing yesterday. Amanda says her throat was bleeding and they took a bunch of blood from her. She’s worried about insurance issues. Her insurance is pretty bad and she thinks the trip to the hospital will probably be expensive. Doesn’t Big Brother give the houseguests insurance while they’re on the show? Weird.

Apparently, Amanda has blood sugar issues. She says her blood sugar got really low last night and that’s why she fainted. She needs to make sure she eats at least five times a day in the house. Matt comes in and changes the subject by telling everyone he thinks they’ll be able to lie out and tan today. Ryan tells Amanda that they still don’t know what exactly caused Allison’s allergic reaction yesterday.

After the breakfast and getting ready for the day shenanigans generally finish, Joshuah & Sharon go outside to tan and talk POV. Sharon wants to keep the nominations the same because that keeps them from being a guilty party in the evictions. Joshuah agrees. He says that Matt is getting really annoying on his no-carb diet. Joshuah doesn’t like that other people are trying to tell Joshuah to diet too. They believe Ryan & Allison are the best pair to take into the finals because they’ll have the best chance to win against them. Amanda then joins the pair, so strategy talk is out the window.

Apparently, after all of the hospital drama and Allison’s allergic reaction, Big Brother has given the houseguests a 24-hour reprieve from slop for today. So they’re going to have the margarita party tonight! Speaking of Allison, she and Joshuah get together for a little chat. Joshuah impresses upon Allison that Sheila has to go home soon. Allison agrees and notes that Sheila seems to be going a little crazy. Allison also thinks it’s crazy she (Allison) ended up going to the hospital yesterday. Her throat closed to only about a centimeter wide! Then, when she got back from the hospital, Sheila didn’t even talk about it – just Adam.

Meanwhile, Sheila talks to Chelsia. She complains some about Adam and then starts crying – saying she’ll vote however James & Chelsia want her to vote. Chelsia pretends to care, but then immediately goes and re-enacts Sheila’s tears and pleas for James. Chelsia follows this up by getting in the hot tub with Joshuah, Sharon, and Natalie, and re-hashing Sheila’s behavior yet again. They then go all age-ist (to add to the other “isms” in the house) and speculate that Sheila is going into menopause and that’s why she’s acting crazy.

While the hot tubbers gossip, Sheila and Allison talk. After their big fight yesterday, they both make explanations and excuses for their behavior. Sheila and Allison say they want to be friends again. Allison just asks that Sheila come directly to her if she hears anything else that makes her mad at Allison. Allison then confirms, again, that she did not spill the beans to the house about Sheila’s yeast infection. I cannot believe the amount of drama going on in this house over Sheila’s yeast infection. What is with these people? Anyway. Sheila goes on for awhile about how hard things are for her in this house, but that she really wants to stay. Allison says she understands.

In the backyard, Joshuah & Sharon are back to plotting. They think they can vote Matt & Natalie out this week, but make them think that Joshuah & Sharon actually voted to keep them in. They hope they can make that work. Sounds like Matt & Natalie are becoming a target… even though they were just “pawns” when they were put on a block. What a shocker! Pawns never go home on Big Brother. Heh.

Around 1:30 in the afternoon, the houseguests get hot water back (lost temporarily in the Head of Household competition). They are all very happy about it. Meanwhile, Allison is working Natalie in the steam room. Not that way! Be nice. Allison is saying how she will vote to keep Matt & Natalie and get Amanda out of the house. Allison also says that she and Ryan won’t put Matt & Natalie on the block unless there is no other option.

Later that afternoon, James, Joshuah, and Chelsia are up in the HOH bedroom. They believe Sheila & Adam will give Matt & Natalie a sympathy vote and that the other pairs can use that vote as an excuse to put Sheila & Adam up on the block next week. They don’t like Sheila or her fights with Adam.

Most of the girls start getting ready for the margarita party, while Joshuah, Matt, and Chelsia talk in the kitchen. Joshuah says that Amanda has to go back on slop tomorrow, but that she needs to take a sugar pill with it to keep up her glucose levels. Meanwhile, Allison and Sharon talk in one of the bedrooms. Allison claims not to have said anything bad about anyone in the house except Jen and Amanda. Yeah, right. She then jumps on the irony express and begins complaining about Sheila again. And Jen.

Allison says that Ryan told her he’s going to propose to Jen if he gets to the finals. Allison has told him to watch the show before he proposes. He doesn’t realize that the whole “Jen-calling-Ryan-racist” thing is going to be big on the show. Allison and Sharon then go on the bash Jen some more. Allison even claims that Jen will look horrible and be all wrinkles in another five years. Other gems brought up include accusing Jen of having an eating disorder of some kind and that Ryan must only like her for her looks… which Sharon say aren’t that great anyway. Meow.
