Dancing with the Stars 6, March 25: Two Dancers Disappear

by Jill Jones -- 03/26/2008
For the first time ever, two couples will be eliminated from the competition. Who’s staying and who’s going? Will Penn (right, with partner Kym) disappear, or can he pull a rabbit out of his hat? Read on to find out and learn what scares Jill.

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the dancers performed the quickstep and mambo, the scores ranged from phenomenal to heartbreaking, and Len talked about his spotted dick. Hey, now! Get your mind out of the gutter; it's just a steamed suet pudding. I'd hate to think of where you'd go if he brought up his wow-wow sauce. Anyway, tonight, two couples will be eliminated. Let's find out if there are any surprises with the outcome.

Tom and Samantha welcome us to the show. Her dress is awful and cinched in all the wrong places.

Despite the fact that ABC just spent an hour re-playing the dances from the past two weeks, additional recaps are shown. Sigh.

Len tells us that he, Bruno, and Carrie Ann selected Edyta & Jason’s mambo as the encore performance. I guess if we’re going to watch something for the 18th time, it might as well be this hella-hot couple.

Tom and Samantha review the standings. I’ll do the same.

RANKINGSTARTONIGHT’S SCORE/CUMULATIVE SCOREJILL’S RANKING
1 Kristi 27/54 1
2 Mario 26/50 3
3 Jason 27/49 4
4 Marlee 24/46 6
5 Priscilla 21/45 2
5 Shannon 24/45 5
7 Cristián 20/41 10
8 Marissa 21/39 9
9 Adam 19/34 12
9 Steve 16/34 11
11 Penn 17/33 8
12 Monica 15/30 7

Surprisingly, we learn right away that Anna & Steve are safe. Tom even throws out a wow in honor of Steve and his enthusiasm.

Next, The Jonas Brothers perform a remake of “Take on Me.” Boy, do I feel old.

Samantha talks to the male stars backstage. I wish Penn would snap and show her how big his feet really are.

It’s time to find out who else is safe in the competition. It’s Jason & Edyta and Karina & Mario.

Wow, we’re moving right along. The next safe couple is Julianne & Adam. Heaven help us.

The judges feel Cristián could go all the way. They also believe Penn’s entertainment value will be missed if he’s eliminated.

Tom ends the suspense and tells us Kym & Penn have been eliminated. That means Cheryl & Cristián will be around for another week.

Penn goes out making jokes. I think he’s a hoot.

There’s no time for fun though; the women are now on the chopping block.

The first of these couples that is safe is Shannon & Derek.

Cameron Matheson returns and takes to the streets. He talks to people on the street about the competition. An older woman busts a move for him. People butcher Cristián’s last name.

In the studio, some acrobatic performers entertain us. Bodies fly through the air and chaos reigns supreme. I’m frightened.

The Jonas Brothers return to perform “When You Look Me in the Eyes.” Last night, I was mesmerized by Anna’s hair. Tonight, I’m distracted by the brothers’ hair.

Samantha chitchats backstage with Shannon & Derek and Julianne & Adam. Adam makes a funny about breeding Julianne and Derek because of their genes.

Whew. Tom rescues us from that uncomfortable moment and tells us the next two couples advancing are Marlee & Fabian and Kristi & Mark.

After a short break, Tom and Shannon tell us the next safe couple is Priscilla & Louis.

The judges return to tell us their final thoughts on the remaining two couples. Again, they have nice things to say about everyone. It’s a regular love fest.

Tom cuts off Bruno to reveal the couple that is leaving the dance floor. It is Monica & Jonathan; Marissa & Tony are safe.

Monica thanks Jonathan for his help. Tom tells Monica she was beautiful on the dance floor.

That’s it for Kym & Penn and Monica & Jonathan. Please join me next week as the couples tackle two more dances and another dancing duo is eliminated. You never know, Len’s wow-wow sauce may even make an appearance.

Jill is an east coast mama who loves Michael Kors, Bea Arthur, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. If she were in a room with the three of them, she might explode. She can be reached at jillcjones@zoominternet.net to discuss these individuals and other topics.
