Big Brother 9, April 2: Dope Operaby Tyler Sandersfeld -- 04/03/2008
View Printable version of this article Previously on A House Full of April Fools, Chelsia’s exit reminded James how friendless he is in the house now. Five houseguests got the slop treatment, including Joshuah. James and Joshuah got Natalie’s nomination. After James caught Sheila in a lie (and blew up about it), he won the Power of James... I mean, Veto. Josh felt the heat now, so he lobbied the nomination of his emotional former partner Sharon. It worked. By the way, I must thank whoever found that photo of the eggs for last week’s recap. That was awesome. [Editor’s Note: You’re welcome!] I’d rather watch a show about eggs than this, but that doesn’t mean I won’t recap. As always, we start after the veto meeting. Everything interesting in this segment always comes from the diary room. Although she’s now on the block, Sharon feels safe, but she will miss Josh when he leaves. Sheila feels for the former partners being on the block, as they share a very tight bond. Josh feels he has the votes of James and Ryan, and he remembers Natalie promising to keep him in case of a tie. Natalie just hopes for a clear eviction without her as the executioner. Hovering over a forbidden slice of pizza, Josh hopes to use his slop status and fake crying to win Adam’s pity vote and stay another week. When Adam walks in, the act begins. Josh sobbingly says he might as well just eat, since he’s a goner anyway. The rest of the act is just completely incomprehensible. After a bit, Adam and Josh hug it out. Josh thinks that since he can cry on cue, he could be a great soap actor. Maybe for Days of Our Lives standards. As Adam finds a tissue, Josh claims he doesn’t want to campaign. Adam tells Josh that this decision is very hard for him, but he could make the vote 2-2 with James. Josh thinks he made some headway with Adam. Josh and James dip into the hot tub with Natalie on the side. Natalie finds it hard to trust Josh, especially if it comes down to her tie-breaking vote. James claims he doesn’t owe anyone anything, but when the time comes, James will talk to her. The question of Josh’s word still lingers in Natalie’s mind. Natalie decides to tell Sharon about Josh’s proposed deal to have Natalie take out Sharon in case of a tie. Naturally, Sharon doesn’t like this idea. Natalie wants to keep Sharon, provided that Sharon won’t nominate Natalie should she become HoH. Sharon scoffs at the idea of nominating Natalie, since she wants the women to stick together. Natalie tells Sharon to get Sheila without letting the men know, and it works. Sheila successfully and stealthily reaches the HoH bedroom where the plan is laid out. Sheila is shocked to hear that Ryan and Adam might flip and take Sharon out. The bottom line is to work together and get the “sneaky” Josh out. Feeling bad for him at first, Sharon doesn’t feel bad now that Josh is gunning to get her out. Well, duh. Natalie wants to work Adam and Ryan to keep Girl Power together. First stop: Ryan. Natalie knows Josh will say anything the rest want to hear. Ryan believes that if Josh stayed, Natalie and Ryan would be safe in the middle. Natalie thinks of convincing Josh that he’s safe, then surprise him out the door. Of course, James would also have to be fooled. Ryan is worried about Sharon, though, since he can’t trust her. Natalie relays Ryan’s distrust to Sharon, then demands that she talk to him. Thus, Sharon reminds Ryan that she never gunned for Ryan, but Josh and James have and will. Sharon says if she leaves, everyone else is screwed. Adam comes in, so Natalie pulls him aside as Ryan and Sharon find privacy to discuss the plan further. Ryan thinks he has a good potential ally in Sharon, and has now seen her as a trustworthy person. Ryan will now play James and Josh. Now it’s Natalie’s turn with Adam. She tells him that if Josh wins HoH, Adam and Ryan are in trouble. “D-U-triple-N,” replies Adam. I hope he knows how to spelll korrectleee. Ryan joins in on the Josh-ousting discussion. and reiterates the plan to play the game as if Josh was safe. Natalie knows he has the people to make the plan work, and she loves it. Meanwhile, Josh and James prove how clueless they are about the situation. Time for Diary Room Votes That Don’t Say Anything Useful (DRVTDSAU). Sheila wants to bond with the loyal Sharon. Ryan also trusts Sharon, so she needs to stay. Sheila sees Josh as hiding behind Sharon, so he needs to go. The weekly Julie-chat starts with Sheila’s thoughts about James, who called her out before encouraging her in the veto competition. Sheila thinks James is an intelligent player, and she also appreciates the advice he gave. Likewise, James wants to see Sheila succeed. It meant a lot to him when she pumped him up, so he wanted to return the favor. Next, Julie asks Adam why he has seen so many tears, few his own. Adam doesn’t think he has been as calm as Julie suggested, but he does want to keep a level head. Talking to Julie for the first time, Josh is asked about his struggles while on the block with former partner Sharon. Josh finds it hard to campaign against Sharon. He knows her darkest secrets and vice versa, and it’s hard not to use those secrets against each other. Still, he doesn’t want to stoop that low. Tell that to Amanda. Sharon has loved Josh from the day she walked back in the house. Gee, I wonder why? Anyway, she believes the two will remain friends outside of the house. Now let’s meet Darlene, Joshuah’s mother. As much as she loves her fun son, Darlene has never seen Josh blow up so harshly or use such awful language. Either she’s not a very attentive mother or the house brings out the worst in people. At times, she is scared to watch. Other times, Darlene wants to wring Josh’s neck. She doesn’t know where this monstrous side is coming from. Still, Darlene tells herself that this is his strategy. As a kid, Josh always put on a show and participated in sports. One summer, Josh went on a mission trip for the elderly in lieu of a vacation. When he came out as a homosexual, Darlene didn’t care. She will always love him no matter what. Nice. Darlene is waiting to see him again, and so is the rest of the family. Josh left saying he would win, and Darlene believes that everything he says will happen. DRVTDSAU: Adam can’t let Sharon take out the boys. James thinks of Josh as the only houseguest left that he can call a friend. Adam finds something fishy about Josh, and he did tick off a lot of people. Now it’s the obligatory Julie-chat with the current HoH. Julie wonders what Natalie thinks about when she stares at Matt’s memory wall photo. Natalie remembers all of the good times the two had together and how fast the time has gone by. Natalie believes Matt was ecstatic when he saw Chelsia walk into sequester. Chelsia promised Matt her vote, so she knows Matt will be glad to see her. As for the two being alone in sequester, Natalie doesn’t care. She says Matt is a free man, so he can do whatever he wants. She believes Chelsia will try to spite her, though. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
