Dancing with the Stars 6, April 15: All Shook Up

by Jill Jones -- 04/16/2008
Ozomatli and James Blunt make special appearances along with two more junior dancing couples. And yet that isn’t even the filler that sets Jill off. Read on to find out more about that and discover who the next eliminated couple is. Hint: It's probably not the folks shown to the right.

Last night on Avoiding SARS Dancing with the Stars, the couples performed the rumba and samba; Kristi & Mark ended up in first place while Priscilla & MY Louis wound up in last; I recapped everything for you because I'm a nice person. In an hour, we'll know which couple has been eliminated, so let's get it started!

Tom and Samantha welcome us to the show; after all, we are their guests. They go through the performances as well.

Len says that he, Bruno, and Carrie Ann have selected Kristi & Mark for the encore performance. As the couple re-does its rumba, we’re reminded of how hot this routine is without being over-the-top or even rated R.

Ozomatli performs while several of the professionals dance. I love this group; its music makes me feel like I’m on vacation. Would someone like to take my drink order?

Tom and Samantha now review the current standings:

RANKINGSTARSCOREJILL’S RANKING
1 Kristi 29 1
2 Jason 27 3
2 Mario 27 2
4 Marissa 24 4
5 Cristián 23 8
5 Shannon 23 5
7 Marlee 22 6
8 Priscilla 21 7

When they finish, they tell us who the first safe couple is. It’s Kristi & Mark. No one is surprised. They also tell us that Cheryl & Cristián are in the bottom two.

It’s time for the dancing kids again. Michelle & Dmitriy are up first. They tell us they enjoy dancing, long walks on the beach, and cool summer nights.

Michelle & Dmitriy perform the jive for us to “You Can’t Stop the Beat.” They do a great job. Their movements are crisp and in sync.

Len compares Michelle to Edyta. Bruno tells them that he couldn’t tell if they were nervous or not because they did a great job. Carrie Ann calls their partnership fantastic.

The next couple is Cara & Jaryd. Cara likes it when Jaryd laughs because it makes her laugh. Jaryd is also into hip-hop.

The couple dances the cha cha cha to “Hey, Baby.” The kids display great hip action and fluid movements. I think that out of the two junior couples, this one gave the best performance.

Bruno calls the kids the cutest gremlins he’s ever seen. Carrie Ann asks Cara how old she is; she answers eight. Wow! Len describes their movements as sharp and crisp.

The show hits a low point when Samantha accosts the kids backstage. I hate filler.

The judges tell us whom they voted for. Carrie Ann gives her vote to Michelle & Dmitriy, while Len and Bruno vote for Cara & Jaryd. That means that Cara & Jaryd are advancing. Yeah, this is the junior couple to watch out for!

Tom tells us that it’s time to reveal another safe couple. He then stops and says the person running the teleprompter messed up. Apparently, he meant to introduce a clip package dealing with what the stars do to prepare for show day. Did I mention how much I dislike filler?

Tom returns with Samantha and is now ready to reveal another safe couple. It is Edyta & Jason.

James Blunt now performs “Carry You Home” while professionals Eric Luna & Georgia Ambarian dance. James’ voice is incredible. Eric & Georgia dance beautifully. What a great performance.

Oh and last week, the professional couple that performed was Delyan Terziev & Boriana Deltcheva. I couldn’t give them props then because I missed their names, so I wanted to do it now.

Samantha talks to Cheryl & Cristián backstage. I’m full of filler at this point. I can’t take any more!

Tom gets right to it and tells us that Karina & Mario and Marissa & Tony are also safe.

After a short break, Tom and Samantha tell us that Shannon & Derek and Marlee & Fabian are safe. That means that Priscilla & Louis are in the bottom two.

The scary music plays and it is revealed that Priscilla & Louis have been eliminated.

Priscilla tries to answer a question that Samantha asks and Samantha interrupts her. Sigh. Priscilla also has to clarify that she does not have a psychic hotline; it was all a joke.

That's it for Priscilla & Louis. Come back next week for a lot more action and hopefully a lot less filler. I’m stuffed!
