Dancing with the Stars 6, May 13: The Road to the Finals

by Jill Jones -- 05/14/2008
The show is taken over by former Dancing with the Stars dancers, people grabbing their personal areas, and little bums. Also, someone is eliminated from the competition before the finals. Will it be predicable or is there an upset in the works?

Last night on Dancing with the Stars, the couples performed two dances based on the luck of the draw. Everyone did well, but I grew tired of Cheryl & Cristián. Tonight, the final three couples will be announced. I’m tingling with excitement.

Before we get started, I want to thank Randy for his help identifying the song Kristi & Mark performed the jive to. It was “Nutbush City Limits.” Thanks, Randy!

Tom and Samantha open the show, and review the previous night’s dancing. I think you’ll find my recap more stimulating so please to enjoy.

They also go over the current standings:

RANKINGSTARSCOREJILL’S RANKING
1 Kristi 57 1
2 Cristián 56 4
3 Jason 55 2
4 Marissa 52 3

Len tells us that he, Bruno, and Carrie Ann have selected Kristi & Mark’s tango for the encore performance. I wonder if Len still finds it to be too spastic.

It’s time for the kids to perform again for their championship title. First up are Rashell & Aaron. They are cheered on at school. Aaron declares that he and Rashell are now famous. Kym Johnson works with them; it’s quite cute. Aaron says he’s happy he was on TV.

They are doing the cha cha cha to “Mr. Postman.” These children are fabulous dancers, and look better than some of the stars and their partners.

Len gives the couple props for their little bums being everywhere. Bruno gets worked up in a good way over their arm movements. Carrie Ann tells Rashell & Aaron that they are adorable little munchkins. Yeah, I’m sure that’s what they wanted to hear.

Samantha talks to the stars backstage. Yoko takes cover.

Choreographer Travis Payne and his dancers entertain us with a tribute to the album Thriller. The routine features bright lights, gloves, and crotch grabbing.

We now switch back to the kids again. Cara & Jaryd are up now. Yeah, this is my team! Cara tells us that strangers now talk to her because of her appearance on Dancing with the Stars. Um, does her family know about this? Hot damn, Maksim practices with the kids. Even Cara thinks he’s cute.

Cara & Jaryd are dancing the samba to “Istanbul (Not Constantinople).” Cara seems a bit hesitant tonight. She might still be thinking of Maksim, so I can’t fault her. Actually, the dance is fast-paced and precise.

Carrie Ann wants to put the kids in her pocket. Len would rather watch the kids than the adults. Bruno calls the dance entertaining. Cara gives Tom her autograph.

Brittany & Brandon are up now. They’re showered with love at home. Brandon is harassed at baseball practice. Ashly Delgrosso meets with the couple; she used to be their dance instructor.

They are performing the paso doble to music from Phantom of the Opera. This couple is fabulous for only being in their teens. They pull off moves that are simply amazing. (I have to stick with Cara & Jaryd though.)

Bruno calls the dance incredible. Carrie Ann says she is impressed with the performance. Len says the couple is the real deal, and refers to the others as cute.

Samantha now bothers the kids backstage. Rashell & Cara are holding hands. They are too cute! At least Samantha tells them that they are all getting trips to Disneyland. Fun!

The stars tell us about their desire to win. They also give each other props.

Finally, Tom and Samantha reveal the first couple moving on to the finals. It is Kristi & Mark. Hooray! Mark picks her up and almost exposes some boobage. Careful, big boy.

The next safe couple is Edyta & Jason. They are thrilled (as they should be).

The other couple joining them in the finals is Cheryl & Cristián. That means Marissa & Tony have been eliminated.

Marissa goes out with a smile; it’s the same way she started the show. I give her credit for all of her hard work. Marissa & Tony can now go home and focus on the new children they’re both expecting.

Before she leaves the dance floor, Marissa tells us to have fun, get sexy, and shake what your mama gave you. I’ve been doing that the entire time this show has been on.

Join me next Monday for the finals, which will include the couples’ freestyle routines. That should be fun. I bet I even tingle again.

Jill is an east coast mama who loves Michael Kors, Bea Arthur, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. If she were in a room with the three of them, she might explode. She can be reached at jillcjones@zoominternet.net to discuss these individuals and other topics.
