Brian thought he was in control of the game, but ended up the first person evicted from the Big Brother 10 house. What does he think went wrong? Brian went from the top of the world to out the door very quickly. But was that the only thing that happened too quickly? Read on to see what Brian has to say.

RealityNewsOnline: Hi, Brian, and thanks for taking the time to talk to us here at RealityNewsOnline! Let’s start at the beginning. Did you have a specific planned strategy coming into the game?

Brian: I did. I had watched Season 7, which was the experience I had with the show. My personality kind of fit with Will. I’m not a natural wait and see person. I started building an army but there was no opposition. I planned to be arrogant – that was part of the character. That would have removed some of the attention from my allies. That was half the goal. It was just the wrong plan for the wrong place.

RNO: You mentioned watching Season 7 – had you watched other Big Brother before coming into the house?

Brian: A very little of Season 2. But that was the only experience I had. And the Australian version when I was in Australia.

RNO: Some of the other houseguests compared you to Dr. Will – what do you think of that?

Brian: That’s extremely flattering, but he made it quite a bit further. When they compared me to him, they probably said something like, “He thinks he’s Dr. Will, but he’s not.” I saw Dr. Will in the little experience I had. There are a lot of similarities but far more differences. I’m very flattered but it’s untrue because of how well his plans worked.

RNO: Are you more upset that Jerry and Ollie broke their word, or that you didn’t see it coming and they outplayed you?

Brian: I’m more upset that I didn’t see it coming. I got too complacent. If I’d picked up on some things… I didn’t pick up on April and Ollie. I asked him if they talked about strategy and he said they only talked about having each other’s backs. I accepted that answer even though they spent 24 hours a day together.

The Jerry situation was tough. On one side, I should have known he was easily manipulated because I manipulated him so easily. But he is a Marine who went through a foreign war and he swore on the military. I believed him. Should I have doubted him? He got backed into a corner. I think this shows he is really there for the experience. If he had stayed in the alliance with me, he would have stayed longer. He’ll be gone when it’s convenient for the others.

RNO: I’m presuming that at some point in the game, you knew you would be breaking your word as well, right?

Brian: I would. Jerry was a wild card. In my everyday life, there is a generation gap. I have trouble associating with that age group. We clash on a lot of issues. I would have done what I had to do. Only one person can win, and I would have done what I needed to do to get to the top.

RNO: If you could go back in time, what would you do differently?

Brian: I would have waited 20 to 24 hours to unleash the Memphis plan. Everything would have stayed the same except the timing. As I said before, if the Veto ceremony had been held the night before, everybody had agreed to vote Memphis out.

There is very much a herd mentality this season. If you don’t give them time to think, they don’t have time to freak out. Once one of them is spooked, they all follow.

RNO: Considering the vote count, I’m presuming you knew that you were going home?

Brian: Absolutely. The vote count should have been unanimous. I told Steven and Angie to vote with the house. Once we knew Memphis wasn’t going to vote with us, I wanted them to have a chance. I requested that they all vote that way, but Dan wanted to keep his word.

RNO: Last season, the first eviction looked like it was going to be Sheila and Adam, until Jacob made himself a target by scheming too much and too obviously. Do you see any parallels here?

Brian: I always knew I’d go at it. I was definitely too over-eager at the very beginning. My problem was more timing. One thing I’d do differently would be letting them know what the plan was. Maybe they thought I was making moves and they just wanted to hang out together. Hopefully, the decision works for them. If Memphis wins, they’ll be kicking themselves.

Timing was my biggest problem. I did three weeks of game in seven days.

RNO: What do you think about the fact that, at least as of yet, there have been no twists and this is a back-to-basics season?

Brian: Can you tell me what the twist is? Nobody has told me!

RNO: As far as I know, the twist is that there aren’t any twists. At least they haven’t announced any yet, other than voting for the HOH before getting into the house.

Brian: I have a theory. The whole house is decorated with different decades in America. There are 13 of us and we started on the 13th. My theory is that America is going to vote as the 14th houseguest. There has to be a twist, because the theme is to expect the unexpected! I suggested to the others that the twist would be that the first person evicted would be the next HOH.

I do want to say that it was a great feeling coming out and hearing the live audience.

RNO: Do you have anything else you’d like to tell us about your time on Big Brother?

Brian: Pay attention and look for more sock puppet shows. I left them there. They’ll have to make a new April one, but Renny is there.

Watch Steven and Angie – they may separate from one another, but they need each other.

Michelle is a terrible joke-killer. She’s the walking un-funny. If you want a great drinking game – though I don’t advocate drinking – watch the live feeds every time Michelle puts Neosporin on her knee. She had rug burns! Every five minutes, she put it on. Then her foot was bleeding from the fake grass. She gets injured more than anybody I know.

And watch for Showtime Steve. At 8:55, he is waiting to see what he can do for [the Showtime audience] for the next three hours.

RNO: Thanks again, Brian!
