“I Was the Biggest Threat” – An Interview with Big Brother 10’s Michelle

by David Bloomberg -- 08/29/2008
Michelle thought she had been protected by Ollie’s deal with Dan, until the veto ceremony. After being sent packing, she answered RealityNewsOnline’s questions. Why does she think she was targeted? Why did she get so personal in her verbal attacks? Why did she think Dan was a “plant” – and even now that Julie Chen told her otherwise, did that convince her? All of this and more, right here!

This week we said goodbye to both of the main players in the last remaining opposition alliance. First Michelle, then Ollie, left the house. What did Michelle have to say about her time in the house? Is she still bitter about Dan? Read on to find out that and much more!

RealityNewsOnline: First, let me say thanks for taking the time to talk to us here at RealityNewsOnline! What was your strategy coming into the house, and how did that change once you got there?

Michelle: My plan was to lie and deceive everyone, but it changes when you enter the house and meet the houseguests. I was brutally honest as much as I could be that wouldn’t get me in too much trouble.

RNO: Why do you think alliances have seemed to shift so much this season?

Michelle: There were new alliances every day because it was the only way to stay alive in the house. I think I made an alliance with almost everyone in the house and it took me pretty far.

RNO: What were your own shifts in allies as the game went on, and how did those changes happen?

Michelle: The house had a lot of fights which made new alliances and broke others. I tried to remain on everyone’s good side… which I did. That’s why between the competitions and getting along with everyone, I was the biggest threat.

RNO: From your perspective, what were the major power shifts in the game, and why were they important?

Michelle: The biggest was when the majority of the house turned on April when she was HOH and backdoored Jessie. It split the house up and exposed people for who they were, which helped me because I was trying to point it out to others and they finally realized it.

RNO: Whenever somebody made a play against you in the game that you didn’t like (whether voting out Jessie or backdooring you), we saw you get very personal in your verbal statements about them. Was it difficult for you to separate the game play from the people?

Michelle: In that house, it is a game but it is personal as much as people try to say it’s not. You with these people for 24 hours a day and it’s like family/roommates and some days are better than others in that house. I may have got up on the wrong side of the bed on certain days. But I actually held back a lot that I wanted to say. That is me… brutally honest (smile).

RNO: A good example is Dan, about whom you said a number of things – such as that he shouldn’t be around children, etc. What do you really think of him, as a person?

Michelle: You say a lot of things in the house that just comes out. I always have had that problem speaking first instead of thinking. I held back a lot also. I am sure people said stuff about me and that is fine with me… they are just words!! I think Dan is not a good person. One that uses and hides behind religion should be more ashamed than me with my comments. He did a lot of things to me and then apologized for them. How many apologies can one person give?

RNO: You said numerous times that you believe Dan is a “plant” of some sort. Why did you think that?

Michelle: We all thought he was a plant… the entire house. If he wasn’t it, he was the weirdest person ever. A lot of the things Dan did and said didn’t make sense. Five people said they saw his girlfriend. He also told everyone he was supposed to be a plant last season and this season… it came out of his own mouth… what would you think!!

RNO: Do you still believe it?

Michelle: I can honestly say I still think he is a plant or some sort of America’s Player.

(Note: Interview questions had be submitted before the live show, so I didn’t know Julie Chen would reveal to Michelle that Dan was not a plant and was just a regular player. However, even that statement has obviously not changed Michelle’s mind on the subject.)

RNO: What did you think of the way Dan ran the veto meeting after Memphis vetoed himself?

Michelle: He basically threw everyone under the bus and he is a coward. I wish he gave me the real reason why he put me up instead of Russian roulette.

RNO: If you could go back in time, what choices would you make differently?

Michelle: If could go back in time and used the POV in Week 2 or made different nominations when I was HOH, I might not have made it this far. So I am happy with my choices.

RNO: Do you have anything else you’d like to tell us about your time on Big Brother?

Michelle: I was blessed and am grateful to have had this experience and hope to be back for Big Brother: All-Stars. I had the best time of my life and fulfilled my dream to be on Big Brother.

RNO: Thanks again, Michelle!
