“I Don’t Regret Anything” – An Interview with Big Brother 10’s Ollieby David Bloomberg -- 09/02/2008
View Printable version of this article On double-eviction night last week, Michelle was followed very quickly by Ollie. Since Michelle went first, I interviewed her first. Now it’s time to get some answers from Ollie – though I have to say that many of his answers don’t make a whole lot of sense. RealityNewsOnline: What was your strategy coming into the house, and how did that change once you got there? Ollie: Not to make many enemies. It didn’t change. RNO: Do you think your strategy was altered by your relationship with April? Ollie: Not at all. My relationship with April actually helped my game. RNO: Why did you expect Dan to follow through on all the aspects of the deal you two made, when it would have been so bad for him? Ollie: I never expected Dan to follow through. I was hoping he would. Dan was desperate at that point and he’s floated his way through the entire game so I had to take the risk because it was me vs. the house at the point anyway. (This seems to me to be a bit of Ollie rethinking the past. There was no indication that he didn’t expect Dan to follow through – indeed, everything indicated he most certainly did expect him to honor the deal.) RNO: What were you thinking when you went on your rampage, throwing things around, after the veto ceremony? Ollie: I just felt a little disrespected, that’s all. Dan mocked the entire house with his little game and I thought it was uncalled for. (So it had nothing to do with Dan breaking the deal? Riiiiight.) RNO: So then, what did you think of the way Dan ran the veto meeting after Memphis vetoed himself? Ollie: It just didn’t make sense. RNO: When you were coming into the house, you said you didn’t want to do anything that might embarrass your family. Is there anything you did or said that you think might have embarrassed them? Ollie: No. Not at all. (Some people might say his nighttime activities with April might have embarrassed his family – or his tantrum in throwing and breaking things – but apparently, Ollie doesn’t think so.) RNO: Why were you apparently convinced that competitions were rigged against you? Ollie: I was just a little suspicious that Dan wore a winter/raincoat in 85 degree weather to a competition. It’s August in California for crying out loud. It was just a suspicion. RNO: You said numerous times that you believed Dan was a “plant” of some sort. Why did you think that Ollie: Dan’s behavior was just weird. He did things that didn’t make sense. For instance, the roulette game at the POV Ceremony. What was the point of that? Also, why did he try to convince Memphis not to use the POV on himself? Did he want Memphis gone? Dan’s a weird cat. (Ollie still doesn’t realize that the story Dan and Memphis told him about Dan trying to convince Memphis not to use the POV was just that – a story, concocted only for Ollie’s benefit so he wouldn’t suspect that he was about to get played.) RNO: From your perspective, what were the major power shifts in the game, and why were they important? Ollie: It’s hard to say. But I think power shifted when Jessie was voted out. RNO: If you could go back in time, what different choices would you make? Ollie: I don’t regret anything. RNO: Thanks again, Ollie.
