“They Thought Winning Against Me Would Be Tough” – An Interview with Big Brother 10’s Renny

by David Bloomberg -- 09/08/2008
Renny was quite the character in the Big Brother house, and she has more to say here in her exclusive RealityNewsOnline post-eviction interview than most of the evictees lately. She goes into detail on her alliances over the course of the game and talks about whether she thinks she would have won at the end – plus much more. Read on!

As you’ll see below (and in the title, above), Renny figures the others thought she would be tough to beat in front of the jury. Was there anybody she thought she might lose against? Read on to find out the answer to this question and much more!

RealityNewsOnline: First, let me say thanks for taking the time to talk to us here at RealityNewsOnline! What was your strategy coming into the house, and how did it change once you got there?

Renny: My strategy coming into the house was for the houseguests to like me and eventually trust me. It never changed. Sometimes you’re not playing the game, the game’s playing you.

RNO: Why do you think alliances have seemed to shift so much this season?

Renny: There were so many alliances that shifted, for the lack of a better term, due to so many houseguests that disliked one another.

RNO: What were your own shifts in allies as the game went on, and how did those changes happen?

Renny: First I aligned myself with Steven right when I walked into the house on a handshake. I aligned myself with all the girls and Ollie at one point. Then I was aligned with April and a whole group about getting Dan out. However, Steven was voted out instead. Then aligning with Keesha and eventually the ones that wanted Libra out. Eventually aligning myself with Keesha exclusively, then on to Memphis, Dan, Keesha and myself.

RNO: You mentioned when you aligned with the girls and Ollie, and April and the group, and while in the house, you made some comments about wanting to have an alliance with April and Ollie, but of course ended up with Keesha. Were you snubbed, was it game play, or just making the best of the situation you were in at the time?

Renny: I was not snubbed, I opted to go in a direction I thought was best for me. I do not remember wanting to have an alliance with April and Ollie. The only time was early on with all the girls and Ollie.

RNO: Why didn’t you nominate both April and Ollie together when you were HOH?

Renny: I did not want to make that many enemies at one time in the jury house. Also, I wanted and had been waiting until I got the chance to put up Jerry. I could not stand him, what better chance. I am glad I did it!

RNO: Why do you think you ended up being evicted this week?

Renny: I was evicted this week because I did not win the HOH [or] POV, and I don’t think Memphis, Dan, or Jerry wanted to take me to the end. Probably they thought winning against me would be tough.

RNO: Was there anybody you didn’t think you could beat in the final two, if you had made it?

Renny: I assumed that most of the houseguests I would beat out. However, it was a toss up that maybe Keesha would beat me. This is why I always told Keesha it would be good to go to the end with her.

RNO: Was there anything you think you could have done to save yourself?

Renny: Yes – win the HOH or the POV.

RNO: Do you feel betrayed by Memphis and/or Dan?

Renny: No, the decision they made was obviously what they felt.

RNO: How bad was it to have to be on the block against Keesha, who seemed to be your best friend in the house?

Renny: I hated to be on the block with Keesha. Campaigning against her would have been hard. We were best friends in the house. However, Memphis and Dan, I believe, [were] more of her close friends.

RNO: Did you ever feel the age difference between you and most of the rest of the houseguests affected you in the game?

Renny: The only time I felt age played a big difference is when they would stay up to the wee hours of the morning. Younger people usually like to hang with friends their own age.

RNO: You seemed to get annoyed with Dan on a fairly regular basis – why?

Renny: Simply, because Dan was annoying! Many viewers probably don’t know how aggravating he could be. For the most part, however, I enjoyed him, except when he overstepped his bounds once.

RNO: If you could go back in time, what choices would you make differently?

Renny: I would not make any choices differently.

RNO: Do you have anything else you’d like to tell us about your time on Big Brother?

Renny: Big Brother was one of the most exciting journeys of my life. It changed my life for the better. It feels so wonderful [that] so many fans love me on the show. Thanks to everyone and I love you.

RNO: Thanks again, Renny!
