“I Could Have Beaten Them Both” – An Interview with Big Brother 10’s Jerryby David Bloomberg -- 09/12/2008
View Printable version of this article Unfortunately, time was short for getting interview answers from Jerry, so I didn’t get to ask him a lot of what I wanted to. But in the time he had, I think he gave us some insight into how he played the game and what he was thinking. Read on! RealityNewsOnline: First, let me say thanks for taking the time to talk to us here at RealityNewsOnline! Did you expect to be evicted at this point, or did you think you would be able to make it into the final two? Jerry: Yes I Did. Dan and Memphis had an alliance from the fourth HOH and stayed loyal to the end. When [I] was against those two, I knew I had been had. RNO: If you had made it to the final two, do you think you could have beaten Memphis or Dan? Jerry: I think I could have beaten them both. They both had alienated more jurors than I had. RNO: Was there anything you could have done differently to make it to the final two? Jerry: Not that late in the game. Early, I could have waited to try and form an alliance. But I had no choice once I was made first head of HOH. RNO: What was your strategy coming into the house, and how did that change once you got there? And to what do you credit being able to make it this far in the game? Jerry: I had hoped to create an early alliance of three who would stay loyal to the end. Getting first HOH ruined that. Getting past the fourth HOH and winning two POVs and another HOH really kept me in there. I then tried playing nice and it worked. RNO: Looking back a while, why were you so hard on Dan for breaking his word and taking off his cross when doing so, when you set the precedent this season by breaking your word with Brian and taking off all your military-related clothing to do so? Jerry: I was not so hard on Dan. He broke his word after saying he would give up his religion if he ever broke his word. I took him up on it and the cross and bible went away. As to Brian, he broke his agreement with me by going off helter skelter and forming four other alliances and got caught. I would have been out in the second HOH if I did not put him up for eviction. I feel he created his own problem. My military related clothing is worn to honor our troops, not to make me look good. I made it to the final three – that is one vote away from the end. I feel I could have beaten either Dan or Memphis if I had [faced them at the end]. RNO: Do you have anything else you’d like to tell us about your time on Big Brother? Jerry: I played my heart out having to overcome being the first HOH. I challenge anyone to try 24/7 under the cameras, microphones, and the hundreds of lights. Playing the game against 12 other people that don’t trust each other and put yourself through utter torture in some of the competitions will drive anyone close to the edge. Don’t judge me too harshly. RNO: Thanks again, Jerry! Do you want to see all the Big Brother 10 action in the house yourself?
