Survivor: Gabon – Advice for the Remaining Sixby Jeffrey Clinard -- 12/10/2008
View Printable version of this article Corinne and Bob attempted to pull off another con with a second fake hidden immunity idol, but it seemed to me there was always a fatal flaw in that it was just as easy for Ken and Crystal to vote out Corinne anyway, forcing her to use the idol. As the idol was a fake, the only way to attempt to use it was in a bluff. In the end, it didn't work to serve any purpose but complicating Ken's game plan. However, Bob has lived another day, though with six players it takes four people to control the vote, barring the use of the real hidden immunity idol. It seems likely Bob is the next target, though he's won two challenges in a row. Another immunity win could force the allied players to crack. Even now, each player should be wondering who they can bring to the finals and beat. It should be the basis of the end game of each player. Both the reward and immunity challenge had a mental and physical component, with the reward challenge having a small political component as well. Corinne was left out, though in the end all she lost was some food as everybody got time with their loved ones. There are just six Survivors left, and each should have a plan to stay in the game and win it. It’s advice for the remaining six. Matty: You got three votes you at the last Tribal Council, but they could end up working for you. Somebody in your group was trying to sell you out, and that probably won't sit well with the rest of your group. Your game plan should be to get rid of Bob, then take out Ken and Crystal, leaving you in the finals with Susie and Sugar. I think you can beat them if you talk to the jury the right now, but you won't want to keep Bob around as he's smart and has friends on the jury. Sugar: You still have the immunity idol, but unless things change, you might not need it. It's not good for much longer, so you'll want to use it before it expires, just in case. As far as the end game goes, you'll want to go against somebody who hasn't played a good game as you haven't played all that well. For now, you'll want to take out Bob, but you should look at getting rid of Ken soon. He's a threat to win the game. Bob: I give you credit for trying to work another fake immunity idol into a better position, but the odds were stacked against you from the start. Still, if you have to, you can try to work it to your advantage by telling his allies he was the mystery vote. You still may need to win immunity if you can't rile up the others against Ken (due to his vote) or Matty (due to his perceived ability to win challenges), but that's often the case with Survivors who land on the wrong side of the alliance game. Susie: One way to win Survivor is to let everybody think they are directing the vote, and then work to take that person out. You've done that a few times by changing sides, and it is nearly time to do it again. You'll want to work with Sugar and probably Matty to eliminate Ken, but only after you get rid of the loose end of Bob. I'd try to go against Sugar in the end; she's probably the most beatable of the remaining players. Crystal: You played the last vote pretty well, letting Ken take the rap if the idol was a fake, and still getting rid of Corinne. You can play things out in one of two ways. First, if you really think Matty is more of a threat than Ken (I don't), you can try again after you've eliminated Bob. Work with Ken and a third person, probably Sugar, as she's the most likely to get talked into voting with you. You can win, but you'll need to get rid of some of the better players, including Ken. Ken: For a fairly smart player, you made a big mistake in the last episode. While I'm sure you thought you'd have a better position if you got rid of Matty and had a new four person alliance with Crystal, Bob, and Corinne, the fake idol trick seemed to work on you, and you got caught with your vote exposed. I do think you have some time to recover, as Bob is still a dangerous person to keep in the game, but you need to spend the next few days finding a third person to go with you and Crystal. I think Sugar is the person who would fit the bill, and you can probably beat almost anybody left if you state your case right. However, your job just got a little harder as you have to explain your vote against Matty. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out these other recent articles on Reality News Online:
