Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno 2, Episode 11 - Mooove Your Boat!by Phil Kural -- 05/18/2005
View Printable version of this article Previously, Landon cost his team a mission when he stumbled on the previous episode. Derrick and Landon also began a rivalry, which began with wrestling while drunk. Are you surprised? Tonya felt even more alienated from her team, if that's possible, and it was Brad that was sent home by Abram in the Inferno. Who will be nominated this week? As usual, we begin at the club. Everyone is "Gettin' their drink on." Shavonda says now that the Inferno is over for that night it's time to hit the town and party. Shots of Darrell and Landon doing -- shots. I think I'm already ready for a shot myself. Southern Comfort and lime, anyone? When it's time to go, of course Landon starts tormenting Derrick. He challenges him to a wrestling match, and Derrick being the wannabe meathead that he is, accepts. They begin to wrestle all around the ground, and you can see the blood already. Derrick slams Landon into the tire of the van, and Landon's back is now bleeding. Darrell breaks it up and Derrick's ear looks like it's going to fall off. Turns out he needs stitches, and he heads to the hospital. Good, that's what you get. The others head home, and Dan is there to greet them, when Landon comes stumbling up the steps, almost falling down them numerous times. It's entertaining, yet scary. Landon finally gets to bed, but this isn't over yet. As he is passed out on the bed, Mike and Darrell begin to write sexual obscenities on his back. Derrick arrives back from the hospital, and since Landon made him look like Dumbo with his one ear hanging out, he decides to shave a bald spot on his head. Oh, those kids! On that note, everyone goes to bed, but not before they get a clue for the next challenge in the morning, telling them (say it with me) "To be ready in the morning and wear your team colors." Morning arrives and Landon says he woke up to find that he had writing on his back and a bald spot on his head, knowing that Derrick probably did it. As he eats breakfast, he shows off his bald spot, and then checks out Derrick's ear, while Derrick admires his barber skills. Mike, being the instigator that he is, tells Landon to shave the middle of his head and spike the sides. Landon, wanting acceptance, does it. I can only shake my head. Let's get to the challenge. Everyone arrives and Dave is there to greet them. He tells them that for this challenge, teams will have to solve a riddle. Teams don't see the riddle yet, but Julie already knows what it is, and how to solve it. Go Julie! There is a stuffed cow, a stuffed wolf and a bale of hay there. Julie says that they have to paddle one over to an island at a time, but the cow can't be left with the hay or he'll eat it, and the wolf can't alone with the cow, or he'll eat it. However, the cow MUST go first. Therefore, she knows you have to take the cow, then the hay, then take the cow back, take over the wolf, then come back and get the cow. Sounds good to me! While the Good Guys figure this out, the Bad Asses argue, and Tonya goes on about how the other three girls don't want to listen to her. I don't want to listen to you either, Tonya. Nobody on the Bad Asses wants to listen, and it's basically just a bunch of yelling. Dave blows the whistle and the teams begin. Although the Good Guys know what they are doing, the Bad Asses get the lead since there are more of them to paddle the boat (which they are only allowed to use their arms and hands to paddle.) It doesn't last long though, as they realize they don't know what to do and have to follow the Good Guys. They do figure it out though, but everyone is doing something different, and their boat begins to fill with water. As the Good Guys bring the cow over for the second time, the Bad Asses try to make up time by blocking in their boat, sending the Good Guys into a frenzy. They work it out though, and as they get back onto the shore, the Bad Asses finally sink their boat. It actually is quite humorous. Julie points and laughs as the Good Guys pull out the win. Dave gives them a check for $10,000 and now they have $50,000 in their bank and Bad Asses have $60,000. Time for Inferno nominations, and this time it's the girls. At the deliberations, the Good Guys are split. Some want Veronica, and some want Tonya. It looks like it's leaning more on the Veronica side though, even though Shavonda and Jamie both want Tonya. Over at the Bad Asses, the girls contemplate which one of them will be picked. Tonya once again states how she feels left out from the other three girls on the team, but nobody seems to care anymore, especially me. Rachel says she knows they will pick Veronica if the Bad Asses pick Julie, and that's who they want. She then goes to confront the Good Guys and tells them that changing their vote is cheating. The Good Guys promise not to do that. Rachel reports back to her master, Veronica, and tells her they are going with the majority. The teams return to announce who they pick to go into the Inferno. The Bad Asses go for Julie, and before the Good Guys pick, Veronica gets up... they tell her to sit down, since they pick Tonya. Tonya and Julie put their figures in the mini-Inferno, and the match is set, but they can still save themselves. However, previews for next week show that they can't save themselves, since it shows them both in the Inferno. Also, the next challenge includes mini-bikes, and everyone looks a little flustered. This show is giving me a stomach ulcer, but I'm dealing. See ya next week! Phil Kural is a recent graduate from Temple University, with a degree in journalism.
