Big Brother 6, September 3 Live Feeds: The Unhappiest Place on Earthby Jeffrey Clinard -- 09/04/2005
View Printable version of this article Welcome back houseguests! When we last left them on the live show, Beau had been evicted, and Ivette won HOH. From collected conversations, we learn that she nominated Howie and Janelle (no surprise) and that Janelle has won the power of Veto by being the fastest to solve a photo morph problem, probably similar to the one in Big Brother 5. Times are as follows:
Ivette can't believe Janelle won Veto power, but Howie tells Janelle he knew that was her competition to win. Janelle says it was her favorite competition. Now that one of them is off the block, they immediately try to figure out how to flip Ivette to their side. They think they can play on the fact that April tried to get her voted out against Sarah, and start talking about promising her final three with a deal. Excuse me, there's those funny words again... “promise” and “deal.” I need to take a few minutes to laugh given the history of those words in this house. Also, I want to ask the logical follow-up question. Ivette already has a final three deal with April and Maggie, and one of them is more likely to take her to the finals that Janelle and Howie. What's in it for Ivette to backstab her long time allies and thus possibly lose their votes against a jury? The Friendship feels sorry for Howie. He wasn't the target, but he's going to go. April says Janelle doesn't deserve it. Uh, actually she does – she won the competition fair and square. Ivette laughs and says “That bitch is going to win another prize.” Ivette rants on, and says that next week Janelle will win Veto power and control the exit between either Maggie and April and herself. Yeah, it could happen. Think about it though. It would be the best thing in the world for the Friendship if Janelle vetoed herself all the way to the finals. That way the Friendship will control four jury votes – enough to win the game. The Friendship keeps apologizing to Howie for losing the competition and having to send him home. April speculates that Big Brother gave her multiple attempts and recorded her best time. A part of me wonders if she's been dipping into some of those drug samples she carts around as part of her job as a drug dealer... oops, pharmaceutical representative. Howie has more sanity and thinks the competition was on the up-and-up. Ivette wonders if Janelle will take Howie off or if Janelle is going after the $500,000 herself. Trust me, Janelle wants the money for herself. Howie says she wants to stay in the game – she's been a fan of the show for years and has some of the DVDs. Ivette keeps pressing Howie to say that the event was rigged in favor of Janelle, and he finally tells her what she wants to hear. He claims certain games are designed for certain houseguests, like the craps game was designed for Maggie since she worked in a Las Vegas casino. I don't know if that is how Howie feels, or if he just made the statement to get Ivette to stop harping on the competition. Probably some of both. Howie leaves, and Ivette and Maggie worry about controlling HOH and Veto next week in order to evict Janelle. Howie goes off to Janelle, and tells her all about the conversation with the Friendship, including the one about winning the money. Both realize the basic fact that the jury will be dominated by the Friendship, and even if one of them makes it to the end, they won't win a jury vote. Janelle gets sarcastic, and wonders if she could join the Friendship if she voted out Howie. She's mad that the Friendship won't vote her the money if she makes it to the end. Howie thinks America should have at least a 50% jury vote. Hate to break it to you Howie, but they once did. It was called Big Brother 1 and it flopped. Howie continues to trash talk the Friendship, and notes that if he went out the week Kaysar was backdoored, he wouldn't ever talk to them again. Meanwhile, the Friendship ponder the money, and thinks Janelle would do evil with it. However, Maggie says it's not their place to judge her. They should worry more about making themselves shine in the game. However, they go back to trash talking Janelle, making up stuff like Janelle performed oral sex on a show producer to win the Veto. April figures that if Janelle makes it to the finals and loses to one of them, America will be booing. You know what? Half a million bucks buys a good set of ear plugs. Howie plays with his lightsabers, and he and Janelle keep talking about the Friendship losing Veto, and Janelle notes that if she wins Veto next week, she'll control the exit. Howie thinks America should be allowed to vote off the next houseguest. He wonders if the contents of the last safe allows somebody to bring a houseguest back in from sequester. Personally, I think it contains the check for the half million dollars made out to the winning houseguest. Finally everybody goes to sleep. Good night houseguests. Summary. Ivette nominated Janelle and Howie, but in a photo morph veto competition, Janelle won Veto. Nobody in the Friendship is happy about it and spent most of the evening complaining about it. Howie and Janelle are trying to figure out a way to flip Ivette to their side, but don't have any practical ideas. Janelle got upset because she realizes she's lost the game as even if she makes it to the finals, the Friendship will control the jury vote.
