“We Never Underestimated Any of the Other Teams” – An Interview with Heidi Bressler on Her Battle of the Network Reality Stars Appearanceby Phil Kural -- 10/07/2005
View Printable version of this article Here’s the thing – I didn’t watch the first season of The Apprentice, so I didn’t know much about Heidi Bressler. All I knew was that she was from Philly, which you know in my book makes you an automatic favorite. Indeed, I did grow to love her – especially her sarcastic wit and blunt honesty! I had a chance to talk to Heidi regarding her appearance on Bravo’s Battle of the Network Reality Stars, and here’s what she had to say: RealityNewsOnline:Had you watched the original "Battle of the Network Stars" or was this the first time you really paid attention to the concept? Heidi Bressler:You know I never watched the original series, however, after Bravo sent me the tape I knew I wanted to do the show. Add a bunch of crazy reality people into the mix and any show will be entertaining {laughs} RNO: Did you know most of the other contestants going into everything or was it your first time meeting most of the other reality "stars?" Heidi: I am a total reality junkie, I admit, so I was excited to meet all these contestants, especially The Real World folks. The experience would not have been the same without Coral or Melissa… those two women were so damn funny!! RNO: Once you found out who was going to be on the show with you, was there anyone in particular you were looking forward to meeting? On the flip side, was there anyone you really didn't care to see? Yes, I'm talking about Omarosa! Heidi: You know, everyone thinks Omarosa and myself will kill each other if we are in the same room. We know how to deal with each other and to be honest, Omarosa was a great interviewer. Believe it or not there is good in Omarosa. RNO:You basically gave up and volunteered to go home during the first episode, in order to save your team a vote. Why did you decide to take the bullet for your team? Was there something going on that we didn't get to see? Heidi: I gave up on the first challenge because I felt guilty for giving up on the jousting. I got emotional because I was mad at myself, and then there members on the team who didn’t want me to go. Plus I was PMSing, so I was out of control. I may be feisty and aggressive but I take responsibility for my actions and I felt I really awful for giving up. I have no regrets though – since I got to go to team Miz! {laughs} RNO: Once you were moved to team Miz, it seemed you were happy with the competitive edge the team had going for them, yet you frowned upon the way they treated Charla. Do you still think Charla was given the shaft? Heidi: Once I got to the blue team I loved them. I realized voting off Charla WAS NOT PERSONAL AT ALL. Team Miz team did what was best for the team. RNO: Charla and Mirna both stated that Ryan Starr was the sweetest person to everyone's face, yet had no problem lying and stabbing people in the back. Did you get that same feel from Ryan as well? Heidi: Ryan Starr said nothing bad about Charla the entire time. I have no idea what happened that first day since I was on team Coral, however, it is a game. Ryan was competitive but she never talked about anyone the entire time!!!! RNO: Do you think that your team went into the final challenge a bit too cocky against team Underdog, or were you trying your best not to underestimate them? Heidi: Our team was confident not cocky. We actually never underestimated any of the other teams. I am very good friends with Bradford and I knew he would do whatever it took to win. The light blue team was great – well except for Mirna. What the viewers did not see is all the whining and complaining she did. It’s funny because the white trash comment was not about ANYONE on their team. I was speaking about someone on the sidelines... but they made it seem like it was against Mirna. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
