The Apprentice 4, Episode 5 Extras: Beauty Before BrainsPage 3View Printable version of this article Jen and Kristi start bragging about themselves again. I hate when candidates do this. Trump is going to focus on their actions during the task, not what they did before they came on the show. Jen says that the team doesn’t respect Kristi. Trump asks if Jen doesn’t think that Kristi has integrity; Jen says she doesn’t. She claims that Kristi has lied about her. Kristi says that the women told Jen her flaws the night before. Jen uses this to say that she talks about people’s strengths. Kristi shoots back that they’re competing for the same job, so she’s not going to praise Jen right now. Trump reiterates that the women don’t like Kristi. The discussion turns to a popularity contest vs. a job interview. Jen says that it may not be about popularity, but the team has to have respect. Trump agrees. Trump says that Kristi and Jen are opposites. Kristi has an edge, causes problems, and is difficult to work with. Jen is a good leader but has the wrong concepts. However, he’s going to give Jen a second chance. Kristi is fired. In the cab, Kristi says that she’s in shock. Trump said he wanted someone with brains, but Kristi thinks that by keeping Jen over her, he went for beauty over brains. She thinks this is a big mistake and Trump will regret firing her. She believes that she was let go based on other people’s opinions and that Trump had no grounds for firing her. She’s turning out to be just as delusional as Toral. Kristi think she was sold out in the Boardroom because she was a threat. She always put a lot into the tasks and was always passionate. However, she thinks her strong personality was a hindrance. Kristi says that she knows who she is better than anyone else in the suite. That’s why she carried herself the way she did. She’s as “real as they come.” She claims that she’s honest and has integrity and an edge. Jen was awful and Kristi can’t believe she wasn’t fired. She doesn’t regret being headstrong. She’s so angry about the situation with Jen that she wants to swear. In her exit interview, Kristi says that she thought she would win because she’s straightforward, aggressive, and resilient. She says that she likes to joke around, but there were some people in the suite she couldn’t joke around with, so maybe they took her humor the wrong way. (She doesn’t elaborate, so I’m not sure if she was talking about Jen or someone else.) Kristi says that Felisha and Alla got to know her well, both professionally and personally. She’s bold and brash, but that’s just who she is. She thinks she put herself out there too far. Kristi took on a lot of responsibilities, but she performed well, so she has no regrets. She’s proud that the women only lost the Bally task by $11. She thinks she led well and she enjoyed the task. The worst part of the experience was hearing Jen call her negative; she doesn’t think she was ever anything but positive. She thinks that she might scare women who are insecure. Kristi doesn’t think she went far because she didn’t treat the women with kid gloves. She was real. Kristi says that she came to impress Trump but she wanted to keep her integrity. And here’s where it gets really interesting: Kristi says that Trump fired her because he was intimidated by her. Let me tell you, I don’t think Trump has ever been intimidated by a strong woman. He works with Carolyn, for Pete’s sake, and Carolyn is a lot tougher than Kristi. Kristi says she isn’t going to change anything. Her favorite part of the experience was getting to spend time with Carolyn and see how she works; Kristi really admires her. She talks about a project she’s developing back home and says she’ll be glad to be with her daughter again - that will be the best reward. Next week: Ahhh, Carolyn in charge. I love it.
