The Apprentice 4, Episode 12 Extras: The Dumbest Smart Girlby Jenn Brasler -- 12/12/2005
View Printable version of this article We start at the end of last week’s episode, with Trump telling Carolyn and Bill that he’s going up to the suite to tell Rebecca and Randal that they’re the final two. Randal and Rebecca admit to him that they thought Alla would be coming back. He informs them that Felisha and Alla were both fired, so they’re automatically the last two candidates. They’re both shocked. Trump tells them they’re both outstanding and that they’ll be having dinner with George and Carolyn. After he leaves, Randal and Rebecca congratulate each other. Then we go back in time to before Trump’s arrival in the suite. Randal and Rebecca talk about who will return, agreeing that it will be Alla. Rebecca says that she thinks Alla has defined herself more as a qualified candidate. Randal says that if Felisha came back, he’d be shocked. Instead, it’s Trump who shows up. At dinner, Carolyn asks Randal and Rebecca where they see themselves in the Trump organization. Rebecca is interested in international opportunities and business development. She interviews that she thinks she has a good shot at winning. Randal may be older, but they’re at the same point in their lives. She’s seen business from four different angles and she’s only 23. I can’t believe Rebecca and I are the same age. Oh, and an interesting piece of trivia that she shares - she once coordinated with Colin Powell for a non-profit organization. Randal tells Carolyn that his strengths are management and technology. He’s interested in the utilization of resources and applying technology. Randal asks for advice from George and Carolyn. Instead, George tells him and Rebecca that they’ll need to pick their teams for their final tasks. Rebecca interviews that she’s thought about who she wants to work with and is determined to get them. Randal is thinking about Josh, James, and Mark, but Rebecca is thinking about Josh, James, and Chris. Randal notes that the game is on. Rebecca offers to give Randal Josh for James. Randal asks if that means Chris is her third pick. She repeats her offer. Randal says that Chris is his second pick, which can’t be true, because he didn’t even bring Chris up until Rebecca mentioned him. Rebecca says that she’s wanted Chris from the beginning. She interviews that Chris is important to both of them because he was eliminated early on and never got to shine. Randal says that he won’t budge on Chris just because he mentioned Mark first. Rebecca agrees to flip a coin, and, fortunately, Rebecca gets Chris. I thought Randal was out of line here. If he wanted Chris, he should have mentioned him in his original list, not argued for him after Rebecca said she wanted him. I’m glad Rebecca wound up with him. I’m not glad, however, that Rebecca decides her third team member will be Toral. Carolyn cracks me up by subtly shaking her head at George. Randal, of course, has no problem with this. He interviews that she made an error because Toral hasn’t lived up to Rebecca’s expectations. She hasn’t shown herself to be a strong performer. He adds that Rebecca believes that Toral can perform, but she’s never actually seen it. Josh, Mark, and Marshawn head to Coney Island, Josh pointing out landmarks along the way. They meet up with Randal, who says that he became sentimental and emotional when he saw the three of them come back. He enjoyed working with them before and missed them. Mark says that they’re bouncing off the walls and ready to work. He wants the softball game to start now. A ways into the task, Toral and Chris head to Infinite Marketing for a meeting. Toral says something about directions and Chris asks if she’s really asking him, since she’s from New York and he’s from Dallas. Toral asks if he wants her to figure it out. He reminds her that she’s from the city and he has no idea where they are. “No panicking allowed,” he tells her. Toral gets herself acclimated. James calls to tell Chris that Yahoo’s colors are purple and white, not purple and yellow. Chris asks if it’s a particular shade of purple and Toral tells him that they have it on a computer disk. Chris and Toral wind up stuck in traffic and Chris tells James that watching Toral drive in New York is “kind of exciting.” I wish Chris had gotten to stick around longer. He interviews that he thinks Rebecca made a great decision by picking him and James, but not so much with Toral. A lot of other candidates would have been better. Chris tells Toral not to kill anyone and she replies that you’re supposed to tailgate people. Remind me never to get in a car with Toral behind the wheel. The two arrive at Infinite but have to park about ten blocks away. They make sure they have everything they need and arrive at Infinite about an hour later than they’d planned. Of course, right after they arrive, they realize that they left something in the car - the disk with the color on it. Chris has to go back and get the disk. He interviews that Toral may have a ton of degrees, but she “has got to be the dumbest smart girl I’ve ever known.” Okay, that’s it. I’m dumping Brian and James and taking up with Chris instead. Rebecca puts Chris and James in charge of the comedy show, sending them to meet with Joe Piscopo. She interviews that she wants to focus on the executives directly. She tells the guys that they need to get the comedians to hang out with the VIPs. James interviews that Rebecca is relying on her team a lot and they won’t let her down. Their goal is to get her a win. 1 2 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
