by Sandy McFarland -- 02/13/2006
Tonight on Project Runway 2, the designers give each other a head-to-toe makeover. Who wants to design their own new look? Which designer has a potty mouth? And who will join Daniel in the final four? Read on to find out!

The designers discuss Andrae’s demise back at the Atlas. Chloe tells us that saying goodbye to Andrae was very difficult. She thinks he’s a great designer. Santino, while muttering to himself, says it’s sad that Andrae is gone. He was the glue that held the four guys together. Santino still considers himself one of most talented designers and thinks he’ll make it to the final three. Nick didn’t expect to be in the bottom two and he plans to step it up a notch. Daniel says winning immunity allows for him to send tassels and zippers down the next runway, and still make it to the next challenge. (Whatever, Daniel. Did he take a Santino pill?)

Heidi greets the designers at the runway. She explains that for their next challenge, they will be designing a “look” for a very demanding client… a fellow designer. In short, each designer will receive a head-to-toe makeover. Heidi pulls names randomly from her button bag and says Santino will be designing for Kara and in turn, lucky Kara will outfit Santino. Nick will makeover Daniel while Chloe works on creating a better Nick. Last but never least Chloe is put in the hands of young Daniel. Everyone’s been accounted for.

Heidi brings out the winning and losing designers’ models, reminding them that this is also a competition for them. The model paired with the winner of Project Runway will get a fashion spread in Elle magazine. As Daniel was the winner of the last competition he once again gets to choose between his muse Rebecca and Andrae’s Danyelle. Wishing Danyelle the best of luck, he once again decides to stay with his Rebecca. No surprise here folks. Heidi bids adieu to the lovely Danyelle who returns back stage to get goodbye hugs from her fellow models. She had become attached to these people and saying goodbye is a little emotional. Back at the runway Heidi tells the designers that she can’t wait to see their new looks. “Bye!”

At the workroom, Tim explains that not only are the designers receiving a new look, they will also be the models. They will receive $200 and two days to complete the challenge. Nick wants to be “suited up” in an Italian euro-trash look. Santino wants to appear preppier, cleaner cut, and more “All American” looking. Oh, and he’s always wanted madras pants. Daniel hopes to make Chloe more like a fun-loving party girl. Nick plans to dress Daniel in a sophisticated, tight, slim suit. He’s thinking 1980s but more modern. Kara shares that she wants to look funkier, but more sophisticated. Santino thinks a jumpsuit would flatter her figure. It would change her from her current “free spirit granola hippie” style.

With their visions completed, it’s time to shop! At Mood, Daniel pulls out bolts of red fabric for Chloe to inspect. Meanwhile, Santino is doing the work for Kara by picking out the materials for the outfit he will be wearing. Nick finds some light gray material. Feeling sorry for Kara he tells us that he respects Santino but he knows how difficult it is to work with him. Meanwhile, Tim thinks the vest fabric that Chloe has found is great. Time’s up.

At the workroom, Nick and Daniel decide that his gray cashmere fabric isn’t really shiny. They’re trying to talk themselves into liking it, if you ask me. Santino looks on and thinks it’s rather feminine. Chloe works to size Nick in a vest. Designing menswear is going to be a real challenge for her. Nick starts sewing immediately. Daniel tries on his new pants and everyone’s impressed. Nick thinks the other designers just have to catch up and get with the program.

Daniel starts a little question and answer game with the designers and asks them if they’d rather make love or have sex? Chloe says, “Make love!” Santino prefers just having sex. “What’s a food you absolutely dislike?” Santino talks about eating his own feces and how many times he “goes poop” (OK, I cleaned it up a bit) a day, which in my way of thinking is way too much disgusting information. Obviously, Nick agrees with me as Santino is driving him crazy! Every time Nick tries to say something Santino interrupts. Nick finally calls him on it, and Santino starts repeating everything Nick says back to him. (I used to annoy my brother doing this.) An exasperated Nick finally says, “Something happened in your childhood, honey!” Santino tells us that his childhood was filled with adversity. Everyone thought he was a weird kid, but he plans to be someone who goes down in history. He knows that day is around the corner because he’s the type that will never give up. (Hmm, not much of an excuse for being such a foul-mouthed ass.)

Three hours before the end of day one Tim visits the designers. Chloe has her shirt pattern almost done and she plans to finish cutting her fabric tonight. She’s confident about the time. Kara has her patterns made and thinks she’ll be ok, too. Tim thinks Santino’s color palette is incredibly rich and he’s encouraged by it. Santino worries that he will have a time factor issue. Tim advises him to just keep watching the clock. “Carry on!” When Kara fits Santino with her pattern he asks, “Are these space pants?” She doesn’t know wtf he’s talking about. Santino explains they must be because “my ass is out of this world!” (Groan.) [Assistant Editor’s note: Double Groan!]

Santino decides that Kara is behind and he’s worried. He wants her to hurry up or he’ll be walking naked down the runway. She’s exhausted but he wants her to get started on his pants. Meanwhile, Chloe fits Nick’s pants to him and Santino pipes in with his two cents and tells her “you can’t polish a turd.” Daniel thinks Santino is a great designer but very arrogant and obnoxious. Nick doesn’t understand why Santino would say the things he does even in joking. “How mature can you be?”

Back at the apartments, Daniel tries to reason with Santino and shares that unnecessary tension will breed nothing but bad things. Santino explains that he is in the competition to be in the final three. Nick agrees that it’s a competition; he just wants him to stop creating tension. (Give it up, Nick.)

The following morning Tim meets the designers in the workroom and introduces special guest, Collier Strong, the consulting makeup artist for L’Oreal Paris. Tim explains that Collier is going to meet with each of the designers to consult with them on their makeovers. Collier first meets Santino and say he has beautiful skin, an incredible jaw line and magnificent eyes. (Santino is really buying this BS, gotta love it!) He thinks that after his makeover he’ll look better than Brad Pitt. Kara is next and Collier thinks she should thin her brows, accent her eyes, and keep the rest of her makeup monochromatic to make her look really amazing. Nick wants Daniel to use a self-tanner, but Collier thinks it would be more dramatic to keep him pale. Yep, Nick agrees. Collier wants Chloe to have texture on her face and define her eyes using individual lashes. As for Nick, his hair is great for his face but he should get rid of the scruffy part of his beard. Chloe loves it!
