Celebrity Fit Club 4, Finale: Fit Ends

by Tyler Sandersfeld -- 10/02/2006
It's the final weigh-in at Fit Club, and many awards will be... uh, awarded. Not only the big awards, like a car and a trip to Cabo, but also a number of less tangible titles. Who wins what? Who loses how much? And will Tyler remember Carnie (right) fondly for months to come? Find out inside!

The time has come, fit fans. It is Day 100 at Fit Club, and the two teams of four celebrities each anxiously await the final results. We've seen the good (record weight loss, loving family support), the bad (the episode four meltdown, a few weight gains) and the ugly (Nick in a Speedo). Tonight, we will see what we all want to see: winners. One team will win the big prize worth over $150,000, while one individual (down to two ladies on opposing teams) will drive home in a 2006 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

For the last time this season, ANT introduces diet expert Dr. Ian Smith, psychologist Dr. Linda P (I'm not going to even attempt it anymore), and drill sergeant Harvey Walden IV. For the last time this season, I present to you the current numbers:

THE FATCRUSHERS

  • BoneCrusher: Current weight 377 pounds, total loss of 47 pounds; current target 5 pounds.
  • Carnie Wilson: Current weight 168 pounds, total loss of 20 pounds; current target 4 pounds.
  • Nick Turturro: Current weight 158 pounds, total loss of 17 pounds; current target 3 pounds.
  • Erika Eleniak: Current weight 129 pounds, total loss of 23 pounds; current target 4 pounds.

HOT BUTTERED SOUL

  • Tina Yothers: Current weight 161 pounds, total loss of 32 pounds; current target 4 pounds.
  • Vinny Pastore: Current weight 248 pounds, total loss of 26 pounds; current target 4 pounds.
  • Angie Stone: Current weight 209 pounds, total loss of 17 pounds; current target 6 pounds.
  • Ted Lange: Current weight 164 pounds, total loss of 25 pounds; current target 3 pounds.

The first of the last weigh-ins belongs to Carnie Wilson. VH1 provides a lengthy recap of all the celebrities' journeys, which I won't repeat. You'll just have to dig up the previous CFC4 articles. Anyway, Carnie's final weight is... 166 pounds. That's a two-pound loss from last week, and 22 pounds overall. Also, Carnie has shed 4.2% of her body fat. Carnie is a little sad that she didn't meet her overall goal, but she is happy with her weight loss. Know who else is happy? Carnie's dad Brian, the Beach Boy himself! Carnie cries from the daddy love, and gives a message of "progress not perfection" to her admirers. Harvey is proud of Carnie, especially since Carnie came to Fit Club terrified of Harvey. Finally, we witness the morph from Day 1 Carnie to Day 100 Carnie, and she looks much slimmer and trimmer. Good job!

All the way back on Day 2, the eight celebs showed their lack of some stuff and excess of others in a four-event Fit Camp at Harvey's House. This time, the now-leaner stars will compete once again, and the team with the most improvement will receive a five-pound credit at the TUSHIE, as well as a personal award from Harvey.

Just like last time, the first event is a round of push-ups. While knee-down pushes are acceptable and widely used, Ted just has to show off by pushing the correct way. This gave him the lowest number of push-ups, but it's still quite remarkable for the not-so-young Ted to complete 51, especially when he gloats this fact to his rival, Nick. Here's the complete results, in order of improvement from Day 2:

  • Erika: 80 push-ups, +40 from Day 2
  • Vinny: 53, +31
  • Tina: 62, +26
  • Angie: 71, +22
  • Nick: 62, +18
  • Crusher: 60, +17
  • Carnie: 61, +14
  • Ted: 51, +5

Event #2 is a minute of jumping rope. Last time, Vinny completed a single jump. This time, he's fifty times better! Crusher actually manages to lose jumps this time around, so that's going to hurt his team. Nick says he almost doubles, which is either bad math or a bad lie, as shown by this table:

  • Vinny: 50 jumps, +49 from Day 2
  • Tina: 121, +43
  • Nick: 94, +25
  • Angie: 61, +21
  • Carnie: 79, +21
  • Erika: 160, +20
  • Ted: 115, +2
  • Crusher: 61, -8

Third is the long jump. Tina sets the bar high at 10'7", then Nick trounces her by 28 inches. Ted, of course, bests his rival by five inches, but Nick wins in improvement. Crusher once again loses a little, and I can't really explain that. Here are the numbers:

  • Tina: 10'7" jump, +2' from Day 2
  • Erika: 9'9",+1'10"
  • Nick: 12'11", +1'9'
  • Angie: 6'11", +1'5"
  • Carnie: 7'7", +1'4"
  • Vinny: 7'6", +6"
  • Ted: 13'4", +1"
  • Crusher: 7', -7"

The final event is the quarter-mile run. Once again, Nick and Ted battle each other for supremacy, much like on Day 2 when Nick overcame Ted in the end. This time, it's all Ted as he takes the tape. However, Goddess Erika claims the most improvement at over a minute faster than Day 2. The numbers:

  • Erika: Time of 1:26, +1:07 from Day 2
  • Angie: 3:12, +:56
  • Carnie: 2:09, +:42
  • Ted: 1:13, +:41
  • Crusher: 2:25, +:37
  • Tina: 1:33, +:35
  • Vinny: 2:02, +:32
  • Nick: 1:16, +:16
