View Printable version of this article Previously on If This Car’s a-Moroccan…: Four teams left Kiev for Ouarzazate, Morocco. Dustin & Kandice Yielded Dublyn, incurring… well, not more wrath, since the wrath was already pretty healthy. Despite Rob & Kimberly’s car trouble, Dustin & Kandice’s navigation errors got them to the Detour in last place. Zoolander were first to the Pit Stop, and Kandice & Dustin were last and marked for elimination. There are still four teams left: Tyler & James (Team Zoolander) - Models/recovering drug addicts/One of the teams to beat Lyn & Karlyn (Team Dublyn) - Friends/No comment Rob & Kimberly - Dating/Keep coming in third, for some reason Dustin & Kandice - Friends/Call me! We’ll hang out! Morocco is desert-y. Will Dustin & Kandice avoid elimination? Zoolander are the first to leave at 5:30 a.m. They’re sent to Casablanca by car to find a market. They admire the sunrise as they head to their car. They interview that they’ll do whatever it takes to get to the final three. Tyler says they don’t care how they place as long as they knock out Kandice & Dustin. Get used to hearing that. In an interview that actually takes place the next day, as we’ll soon see, Tyler says that they’d rather have Dublyn in the final three with them. Speaking of Dublyn, they’re the next to leave. Lyn says this is the first time they’ve been this close to the front. Karlyn says they have a plan to get rid of the blonds, since the blonds tried to get rid of them. Lyn says that she used to love road trips, but now she’s sick of them. I can imagine. Rob & Kimberly leave next. Kimberly interviews that Rob keeps going for it and hasn’t given up. He used to need motivation, which was something she was worried about before the race. Rob is sure that they’ll win and get married and “ride off into the Moroccan sunset.” If they don’t accidentally drive off the road first; there aren’t guardrails through the mountains and the roads are pretty windy. Lyn says she never imagined coming to Morocco, let alone driving through the Atlas Mountains. Kimberly comments that she hates that there are so many dogs out there. Oops, they’re lambs. Actually, they’re goats. Rob teases her, asking what kind of animal he sees. “Shut up,” she says. I’m not familiar with that species. Dustin & Kandice leave last. They remind us that they face a 30-minute penalty if they don’t come in first. That will come up many times as well. The blonds say the feel the other teams’ coldness, but they have each other and that’s all they need right now. Zoolander get some help at a gas station. There’s been a lot of direction- and local-getting at gas stations this season. Dublyn can’t find someone who speaks English. Rob tries to take advantage of a red light to ask for directions, but the light changes too quickly. Dustin & Kandice grab a local and hope that the other teams have trouble finding the market so they can make up some time. No such luck, as Zoolander are the first to arrive. Their clue is a Roadblock - one team member has to get camel meat, take it to a café, grind it, have a guy cook it, and then eat it. Okay, there are actual camel heads and necks hanging in markets. I’m fairly traumatized. James takes the task, which makes sense to me, since he rocked the eating Fast Forward. Fortunately, once the meat is ground up, it looks like ground-up hamburger. Plus, you can put all sorts of spices on the meat, so you can just dress it up so much that you don’t even think about what you’re eating. Kandice & Dustin are next to the market with their local in tow. Dublyn get a cab driver they can follow. James starts eating and notes that the meat tastes like a hamburger Tyler wishes he could have a bite. He also notices that no other teams are there. Cut to Kandice & Dustin reaching the Roadblock, which Kandice takes. She’s excited to eat camel meat. Rob & Kimberly get directions. They use hand movements to make sure they have them down correctly, and they look like they’re dancing. I wish I could describe it better; it’s hilarious. Kandice gets her meat and the blonds meet up with Zoolander, who aren’t pleased to see them so soon. “Awesome, possum,” Dustin says to Kandice as she grinds. Hee. Tyler wants to know how they got there so quickly. It’s called luck. James finishes quickly and tells the cook that the meat was delicious. Kind of funny, since all the guy did was put it on the grill; James was the one who seasoned it. Anyway, their clue sends them to Barcelona, Spain. Rob & Kimberly reach the parking area as Zoolander are leaving. They’re warned that the blonds are already there. However, they have to find the camel-meat stall first, and that’s no easy task. Kandice notes that the camel meat is the protein that’s been missing from their diet. Well, her diet; Dustin won’t get to eat any of it. Kandice requests that the cook, Mohammed, cook hers medium well. Dublyn get directions. Kandice & Dustin note that their local is waiting patiently for them. Rob & Kimberly keep searching. They’re starting to yell at each other again. A guy in the market lets Dublyn know that some other Americans have already been there. Kandice starts eating, telling Dustin that the meat is good. Dustin sounds genuinely happy that she doesn’t have to eat something that tastes gross. More Rob & Kimberly/Dublyn searching. The contrast is that Rob is running around with his hands in the air while Dublyn walk around quietly. 1 2 3 4 Next-->View Printable version of this article |
