![]() ![]() Love CruiseIs Reality TV Getting Nastier?, by Susan Schechter: Watching the new batch of reality shows, it seems that the contestants are getting nastier. We’re not talking about the clever sort of “evil” that defined Rich Hatch, but a pure vindictive nastiness. Why is this happening? Love Cruise, Episode 7: The Ship Finally Sails, by Stacey Allison: And so we come to the end of the "maiden voyage" of Love Cruise. We begin with two finalist couples, but another is added from the previous losers. Which will win the grand prize? Which will fall in love forever? And will Toni's eyes finally just pop right out of her head completely? Love Cruise: Tale of a Putz and a Wannabe Chivalrous Knight, by Susan Schechter: Two of the men on Love Cruise have gotten a lot of attention -- Michael and Anthony. Both are devious in their own way. Both think they are masters of the game. But are they fooling themselves? Love Cruise, Episode 6: Anger Management Issues, Ahoy!, by Stacey Allison: Between Anthony and Toni, it’s hard to say who is more annoying. Both are certainly vying for the title. Maybe we should declare a tie. But why are Toni and Ralph so unhappy? Love Cruise, Episode 5: The Chess Master Needs a Few Pointers, by Stacey Allison: How committed is each person to the others? C’mon, this is a game, fercryingoutloud! Who cares? Still, that is the official theme for episode 5, though the real theme should be Michael’s machinations. How does he manage to get Jeanette back from Loser Island? Love Cruise’s Lisa, a Self-Esteem Nightmare, by Susan Schechter: Lisa, who was recently tossed from Love Cruise, has only herself to blame. Not only did she suffer from low self-esteem, but she broadcast it to one and all. Pity and sympathy only go so far… Love Cruise, Episode 4: Water-Logged Love Triangle, by Stacey Allison: The theme for episode 4 was rivalry. Of course, that is pretty much the theme for the whole show – indeed, all reality TV shows. But who does this episode’s rivalry involve? And how does it all play out? More importantly, who wins the mud wrestling? That’s what really matters. Love Cruise: High Expectations, Low Characters, by Susan Schechter: I had high expectations for this show, but so far they haven’t materialized. For one thing, I at least thought some of the players would be likeable. I was wrong. Love Cruise, Episode 3: Rough Seas Ahead, by Stacey Allison: The speech by Adrian last week did not exactly make the women feel warm and fuzzy. Would he pay the price, or would he rally the troops instead? Rumors (and lies) abound as we see “the power of words.” Love Cruise, Episode 2: Trouble in Paradise, by Stacey Allison: In this second episode, the guys get to choose who they will pair up with. Well, at least they choose a cabin-mate – it seems that at least one of the women has a mind of her own when it comes to picking who to spend time with. And we are introduced to the Switch Card, a form of immunity.
