Introducing: The WWF Tough Enough Trainersby Mike 'Big Fred Machine' DeGeorge -- 07/10/2002Welcome to my debut column on RealityNewsOnline! My name is Mike DeGeorge, and for the next few months I will be your guide through television’s most unusual new reality show, WWF Tough Enough. The concept is simple: 13 people (8 men and 5 women) were chosen out of thousands of applicants for the show. The will “live together, train together, play together, and compete with each other” under the watchful eyes of four WWF wrestlers. One contestant will be “voted off” by a special committee every week until one man and one woman are left to claim the ultimate prize – guaranteed WWF contracts. I realize many of those reading this site may not be familiar with the ins and outs of professional wrestling. I hope to bridge the gap between the reality show fan and the wrestling fan and provide a recap that will be entertaining and informative for both. This first set of columns will serve as an introduction to the series, and more appropriately, to the WWF wrestlers who will serve as trainers on the show. There will be four main trainers for WWF Tough Enough, two for the men and two for the women. The women’s trainers are Tori and Jacqueline, while Al Snow and Tazz will train the men. I’ll present a bit of personal background on the people behind the characters, as well as some history of their characters and roles in the WWF. I’m not sure how much the trainers’ gimmicks (their on-screen personas) will affect the show, but I know that having a good base knowledge of who these people and characters are will increase your enjoyment of the show dramatically. Other WWF wrestlers will appear throughout the season, and I will deal with them (in less detail) in the individual episodes. Click below for the backgrounds of each trainer:
