WWF Tough Enough: Tori

by Mike DeGeorge -- 07/10/2002
Curvaceous and a good wrestler, Tori will be one of the women's trainers on WWF Tough Enough.

The trainer named Tori (Terri Poch) began her wrestling career with the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) promotion, but started her WWF career as “Sable’s biggest fan” around December 1998. If you don’t know who Sable is, you truly aren’t missing anything. Sable is best known for two Playboy appearances and a lawsuit against the WWF where she alleged, among other things, sexual harassment and that someone smeared feces in her gym bag. In any case, Tori debuted in happier times during the height of Sable’s popularity. She would appear in the stands to cheer on Sable until she was invited into the ring by her idol, who proceeded to treat her like garbage. Eventually, Tori turned on Sable and the two had a match, which Sable won. She proceeded to wrestle the other women of the WWF for a few months, even holding the WWF Women’s Title for a time.

She disappeared from television for a short time and returned, notably more, um, curvaceous, if you get my drift. She inexplicably became the ‘girlfriend’ to the masked wrestler Kane, who became embroiled in a feud with his former best friend, X-Pac. During the course of the feud, Kane lost a match that stipulated that Tori had to spend Christmas with X-Pac if Kane lost. Of course, Tori promptly turned her back on Kane and became X-Pac’s girlfriend. She continued in the role as Window Dressing (occasionally getting involved in matches when the storyline dictated) until an injury forced her out of action in June of 2000.

She was set to return to the WWF in early 2001. Her comeback came playing “Raven’s ninja”, a shadowy figure dressed all in black who helped the wrestler Raven win matches. After weeks of speculation, she was finally unmasked on an episode of Sunday Night Heat in March and has not been seen since.

I really have no personal opinion of Tori, other than her obvious pleasing physical attributes. Her lack of decent angles (storylines) detracts from the fact that she is arguably the best pure wrestler of any of the WWF women.
