While in the Big Brother 2 house, Krista lied and manipulated. Then, when she came up for nomination, she said she wouldn't lie and manipulate -- another lie. She's continued on this even after her eviction, lying repeatedly in an interview on the CBS morning show and coming up with a new story about why she didn't know the knife incident was cause for Justin's expulsion.
When Krista was booted off of Big Brother 2 earlier this week, I pointed out how she has lied and manipulated and then further lied by claiming she wouldn’t ever lie or manipulate. It appears that she has chosen to continue this path, perhaps in the hope that she can hold on to her 15 minutes of fame – or at least convince some people that she still has her dignity.
Krista appeared on CBS’s The Early Show following her ouster. There, she talked about how she would have had to lose a piece of herself to stay in the game, etc. Yes, the same old refrain. In particular, she noted that “I stand up for my friends.”
Really? Funny, but considering she had an agreement with Hardy (her supposed friend) to go into the final three together, and then she told Will to boot Hardy and take his place, I guess we have different definitions of “standing up” for somebody.
Then again, we also apparently have different definitions of the word “lie.” She flat-out said, “I didn't lie to anyone. I didn't deceive anyone.” What utter BS. Not only did we see her telling Will to boot Hardy, but we then saw her flat-out denying it to Nicole. And that was only one of many instances we saw of Krista lying and deceiving. Yet she could actually sit there, with a straight face, and continue to lie about it. I tell you, the girl has a future in politics. Of course, the folks at the CBS morning show weren’t exactly likely to call her on her bogus statements.
She did note that she was bothered by what Laken, her daughter, might have seen on the show. Well, gosh, I can’t imagine why. Laken saw her mother swear like a sailor (actually, most sailors probably don’t swear nearly as much as she did), get stone cold drunk, make out with a guy she barely knew – who then held a knife to her throat, and lie through her teeth repeatedly. To make things even worse, the Banish Krista website reports, "Krista is going to stay in L.A. for a week before going home to Laken. So it's now Boogie 2, Laken 0 - I guess flowers over Laken just wasn't enough, she had to do it again to make sure Laken knew where Krista's priorities lie." Ouch. I had actually forgotten how Krista snubbed her own daughter in favor of Mike during the reward challenge. It almost makes me wish Krista had won just so she could pay for the years of therapy this girl will need.
Speaking of the Justin-and-the-knife incident, on Thursday when Julie Chen had asked Krista about whether she knew why Justin was booted, Krista played dumb. At the time, I speculated she was so drunk that she’d blacked it out, or she was just continuing to lie. The topic came up again on The Early Show and she expanded a bit on her cluelessness.
She said that when Justin picked up the sweeper and asked, “How would you feel if I bashed your head in,” she took it as a joke. Hmmm. Yeah, I can see the humor in that…
Then, when he pulled out the knife and held it to her throat, she still didn’t see any problems with this. In fact, Krista said that the reason she drew a blank when Chen brought it up was that she thought of it as just “joking around.” But she also said she really didn’t remember the knife incident in particular – maybe her eyes were closed. Oh, give me a break.
She further added that Justin was just a fun guy. Yeah, death threats and attempts at intimidation – such as his fight with Kent – are just a barrel of laughs. Hoo-boy, I can’t wait to invite him to my next party.
Again, this seems to me to be part of her attempt to sweep everything under the rug. She didn’t suspect that the kitchen incident might have had something to do with Justin leaving? She remembers it but she doesn’t? Which is it? I know she was drunk, but she can’t have it both ways. Well, I guess she can, since she is the one who first lied through her teeth and then claimed that she wouldn’t and didn’t lie (which was, itself, yet another lie).
Maybe Krista has fooled some of the people, somewhere, but there are still plenty of us who saw what she said and did, and we know the truth. Perhaps truth is a concept she should become more familiar with.
