Big Brother Divorce?

It finally happened. In all the Big Brother houses in the world, people met, fell in love, and did what came naturally. One couple (from the British version) had a baby, which was reported here on RNO. Couples broke up, most notably Mike and Krista from the U.S. BB2 house (if you could ever really have called them a “couple” [Editor’s Note: A couple of what? I have some suggestions…]). Contestants from both UK houses have decided to live together - and a couple in the German house not only met and fell in love, but they married.

Daniela and Karim met during the second Big Brother house in Germany. They drove their audiences wild guessing by hiding together under the sheets of the TV show. Were they or were they not getting it on? Their fellow contestants held an unofficial wedding for them inside the Big Brother house. They tied the knot for real once the series ended in March, 2001. Now, according to Ananova, and reported in the Bild newspaper, Karim has been involved with a table dancer named Beatrice for several months, and Daniela wants a divorce.

Daniela, 32, called her husband, 29, a pig. She told Ananova, “Even when he’s saying good morning, half of that is a lie. So I’m getting a divorce.” Living together in a house 24/7 will certainly tell you a lot about your lover (after all, how many people date for years and think they know each other, only to break up as soon as they move in together?), but what it can’t tell you is how they will act outside the house. For that, you need Temptation Island.

But sometimes people do have a change of heart. As this story was going to press, it was announced that a public reconciliation for this couple will be shown on German TV station RTL. Ananova reported just hours ago that Daniela and Karim have now gone on holiday to try to sort out their differences. I just hope it wasn’t to an island with Mark Wahlberg.

Maybe in the sprit of Valentine’s Day, this can be worked out. If not, I do suggest this couple appear on the U.S. show, Divorce Court.
