'Survivor: The Amazon' Contestant Jenna Morasca: Swimsuit Model and More!by David Bloomberg -- 01/11/2003
There will be no doubt in the sixth season of Survivor as to who the "Survivor Hot Chick" (as Jeff Probst has used the term to describe Erin last year) will be - Jenna Morasca. Of course, her exposure will partly depend on how long she stays around, if she gets sick, if she ends up being a Jerri-like witch, etc. But the fact is that Jenna already has quite a bit of exposure. On lists already propagating throughout the Web (for example, at SurvivorFever), Jenna is shown as a 21-year-old swimsuit model. That should be enough to tell us what she looks like. But there's much more.
If you'd like to see some that do do her justice, check out her photos in association with a Stuff Magazine contest. Hoo-boy! She may be the first Survivor contestant to appear in a men's magazine before appearing on the show. (For those who don't recall, Amber from Survivor 2 appeared in Stuff Magazine and, of course, Jerri appeared in Playboy and also participated in a Playboy web chat.) She has apparently also appeared in the pages of Maxim. Below is one example of her Stuff photos:  The site also tells us that she went to the University of Pittsburgh and majored in Zoology, and was born February 15, 1981. Some of her favorite things are video games, Halloween, tattoos (no mention of whether she has any herself), and her ferret. She only drinks water, which will be good in the Amazon because there won't be anything else - though I hope she's not expecting something bottled. And she "totally likes the Backstreet Boys more than 'N Sync." Um. Okay. Also, Jenna wants to host a show on Animal Planet. Well, I'd say the goal of hosting a show will definitely be a little closer with her upcoming Survivor exposure. But, as they say on TV infomercials, that's not all! Besides having competed in Miss Pennsylvania USA, she also was in Hawaiian Tropic and Venus pageants - though I have to admit I'm not terribly familiar with those. So, what do we know now about Jenna Morasca? She's beautiful, a model, a successful beauty pageant contestant, and loves animals. It will certainly be interesting to see how all of this plays into her stay in the Amazon on the sixth Survivor series. Jenna Morasca was the second runner up in the 2002 Miss Pennsylvania USA competition, and you can see the publicity photo that was used for her to the right. However, that photo really doesn't do her justice.
This photo, at left, is but one of the ones on the Pageant News site (the one at the top of this article is another). The information associated with the photos indicates that she has a lot of pets (apparently not just the ferret mentioned previously) and talks briefly about her work on a TV show where she reviews the nightlife of Pittsburgh and does interviews for the Fox affiliate in town. A Post-Gazette article from last year indicates that her nightlife duties are apparently for a show called, naturally enough, Nitelife. The owner of the show was shopping it around and trying to take it national, though no word on whether he succeeded.
