A First for Big Brother: Sex in the House

Viewers who only see Big Brother 4 on TV would have no way of knowing by what has been shown so far that David and Amanda have had a little romance brewing. It was mostly simmering in the background while Scott was there, but once he left, the two seem to have made a connection through their unusual use of humor. The previous night, they had been up talking to each other until four in the morning. Then things started to get a bit more heated.

In fact, they got so heated last night that they went where no U.S. Big Brother show has gone before – sex on camera.

A series of events occurred that led up to the HouseGuests voting that Nathan should hand over the key to the Head of Household (HOH) room to them for the night. Nathan did not appear particularly pleased about this turn of events (and really, who does like the idea of somebody else using your bedroom), but he went along with it.

So David and Amanda went into the HOH room after David apparently had quite a bit of wine and Amanda showed people in the yard how she can put her legs behind her head (until Big Brother instructed her not to obstruct her microphone – spoilsport!). Once there, they both chatted nervously for a while and speculated about where there are cameras in the HOH room.

Eventually, though, they were both in bed and moved from making out to having sex at about 4 AM California time. Live feed watchers, and pictures posted to some of the live feed message boards, show that they remained pretty well covered up the entire time, but there was no doubt about what was going on under the covers.

For the record, Amanda said she does not have genital warts, as Scott (her ex) did. And David and Amanda appear to have used a condom.

After they were done, Dave ended up throwing up all over the place. This was not a commentary on what happened, but probably because of the food and drink he’d consumed that night (although it wouldn’t surprise me if nerves played a role as well – I mean, he just had sex in front of the whole world). They moved to his small bed because it’s closer to the bathroom and spent the rest of the night sleeping there. I’m sure Nathan will be pleased at the state of his room – though now would be a good time for that special maid service to come in handy.

As of before they went into the room together, everybody still seemed quite certain that Amanda is going home – perhaps they saw this as a parting gift like you get on more traditional game shows. The question now is whether Dave will end up following her quickly.

I’m sure the Big Brother producers are in hurry-up mode, editing footage for tonight’s show. I think they’ve been hoping for this for a while, and they need to show it before Amanda leaves – likely tonight – or it won’t make any sense.

On a closing (and somewhat depressing) note, I’m sure all of this is doing wonders for Scott, who is now at home watching…
