Big Brother 4, September 2 Live Feed Highlights: Rob vs. Alison

by David Bloomberg -- 09/03/2003
Rob is beginning to lose it. He can’t stand Alison (okay, that much is understandable) and he makes a strange proposition to Erika! Meanwhile, Alison can’t stand Rob either. They also begin the first part of the food competition in an arts and crafts project. Read on for details!

Not much going on in the house Tuesday morning. There is a long lockdown, but no obvious reason as to why. In some of the ongoing conversation, Alison talks about how she might not use the Veto and she wouldn’t have to explain why. Yeah, Alison, you do that – just allow the Golden Veto to go unused. That worked out really well last year! But I think she was just joking. Say what you will about Alison (and I have!), but she’s nowhere near as dumb as Marcellas.

Speaking of dumb, at one point Erika goes to relax alone and Robert follows her into the bedroom. He actually asks her if she would go out with him after the show! She replies back asking, like on a date?! He says yes as she tries to figure out a way out of this situation. When she doesn’t answer right away, he prods her and she says she’ll have to think about it, and then quickly leaves the room. Yeesh.

A little later, Jee is packing his belongings and getting ready to go. He tells Rob goodbye – he seems to finally have accepted that he will be leaving.

There is big excitement in the house when they hear helicopters and sirens. They figure something has happened nearby. Erika says that perhaps Dana got loose. Heh.

In the “Not Exactly Big News” Department, Jee and Rob have a conversation in which they say that they don’t want Alison to win.

When Alison and Jun get some alone time, they decide that Erika is lying to them. Why? Because Erika told them about Rob asking her out – they don’t believe it! They further discuss that Erika is the biggest threat in the house (very true). They also try to figure out what the next HOH competition will be. They think it may involve another Q&A about other HouseGuests, so Jun tells Alison what she had put on her questionnaire.

Later, the three women talk about how sexist Rob is and how he treats women. They wonder if that’s how he treats his own daughter, but Erika says no. She adds that it is funny that he never seems to think about what would happen if some guy treated his daughter the way he treats women. Ouch.

The first part of the food competition is today. They have to decorate piñatas. Rob says he doesn’t want to do it – he’ll just leave his white. Jun makes a rather rude comment indicating that he is going to go masturbate. In fact, he goes to read his daughter’s letter. Meanwhile, Ali picks the “boy” piñata and says she’ll decorate it like Donny (yeah, that’ll make him feel better – make an effigy of him and then beat it ‘til it breaks!). Eventually, it ends up being an Indian (Native American) instead. Erika takes the dog and Jun takes a star.

Eventually, Rob comes back out and takes another star while Jee works on a dinosaur. It appears that Rob must have been told that he has to do it. So he’s going to do it quickly so he can just be done with it.

In fact, Rob has been increasingly separating himself. It gets to the point today that Alison notices how Rob leaves a room whenever she walks into it. She asks Jee about it and he just says he knows Rob was upset with her vote the previous week, but nothing else in particular. When dinner is served, Rob takes his food and heads outside, much to the shock of Jun. The women talk about how it’s obvious Rob just wants to leave, but they are going to keep him in just to spite him. Still, they wonder if he’s going to do something to get himself booted or just walk out. (What a nightmare that would be for producers – with the extra week, they are going to be stretching things as it is!) Later, Jee talks to Rob, saying he knows it will be hard in the house with just him and the three women, but he has to hang in there, etc. A little while after, Alison and Rob talk and he says he’s okay with going next week but he’s just sick of the game and wants it over already. Alison helpfully tells him he can leave at any time – just walk out the door. No, he says he’s not a quitter.

And he’s definitely not a quitter when it comes to Erika. Once again, he asks her about getting together after the show is over. She says she feels put on the spot and he admits he’s probably not thinking straight and it’s probably just because he’s lonely and she’s here in the house with him.

During the course of the day, at some point Alison mentions to Erika that when she gets out, she’d better be Donny’s wife. And she wants a two carat diamond. Hmmm. Wasn’t she just talking about how he doesn’t have money? And how she’s not into getting “things” like Jun is? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

Getting back to strategy, Jun tells Alison that she’d rather be against Rob in the end than Erika. But they are also annoyed by him and the fact that his parents have money, yadda yadda yadda.

Rob, meanwhile, keeps trying to talk to Erika alone. She avoids it – perhaps because she thinks he’s going to ask her out again! But he claims to Jee that he wants to encourage Erika to do whatever she can to get Alison out.

With all this Rob-bashing by Alison and Alison-bashing by Rob, I think it would be great to have a Rob/Alison final two!

In any event, they hit the sack for the night…
