America’s Next Top Model 4 – A Preview of the Model Wannabes

I was pleasantly surprised to see that America’s Next Top Model 4 followed so closely behind the third season. Well, not exactly right behind, but pretty close. Yeah, I know, I never got to interview Eva – don’t rub it in! Anyway, we have 14 new girls to pick on! Join me as I take a brief look at each girl, formally introduce you to them and take a wild guess as to how they will do in the competition. Sometimes I nail it, sometimes I get it completely wrong, but it’s still fun to guess!

Brandy – Brandy is a 20-year-old cosmetology student from Houston, TX. She reads Seventeen magazine, her favorite movie is The Lord of the Rings trilogy and her favorite TV show is The Parkers. Damn, her favorite movie is the whole trilogy? Isn’t that like as long as a pregnancy? I give credit to her if she can sit through the whole thing – I couldn’t do it. Anyway, is it me or does Brandy look like she has an afro that is spray painted on? This is not a good start since I’m really not feeling this girl. My guess is that she will be like the fourth or fifth cut.

Brita – Brita? Like the water filter? Brita hails from La Canada, CA. She’s 25, and an avid listener of Howard Stern. This could mean that she has a potty mouth, which is kind of sexy in a trailer park sort of way. Her favorite foods include sushi and cheese, so she is either a vegetarian or very boring. My guess is that she’s pretty boring since I’m getting no kind of read on her. I can tell you one thing though, they will make her cut off all that beautiful hair, and then she’ll freak out. She’s gone early.

Brittany – Yay, our first contender! She’s so pretty, well, in my opinion! Brittany comes from Tallahassee, FL and is 22-years-old. I’m loving her smile, and loving the fact that her favorite move is Old School even more. Good movie! Brittany is an elementary school instructional aide. Doesn’t that mean she’s a teacher? I don’t get it, but what I do get, is the fact that I like her. I think she’ll make it past the midway point, but not the finals – and that’s too bad!

Christina – Damn, this girl is skinny, but cute! Another Tallahassee native; does that mean that she and Brittany will be instant friends? I wouldn’t count on it, especially in this competition. Christina is 24 and a fashion marketing student. She loves to watch Sex and the City and her favorite food is anything Italian. Okay, I’m digging this girl too. She’s pretty, skinny, and looks to be full of drama. All this means that she will be around for a good while, possibly making it to the finals!

Kahlen – Ooh, this girl has attitude! At least, it look that way from what I can see. She’s 21 and from Broken Arrow, OK. Doesn’t that just sound like a place to settle and start a family? She watches The O.C., reads Rolling Stone and her favorite movie is Waiting for Guffman. (Associate Editor’s Note: I have, and that movie is awesome. I now like Kahlen.) I’ve never seen that one. I’m thinking that this one is going to have a superiority complex along the lines of Camille from Cycle 2. Although, she won’t make it as far as Camille did. In fact, I don’t think she will be around long at all.

Keenyah – LOVE HER! Look at how beautiful she is! Keenyah is from Compton, CA, and is 19. Wow, she looks pretty mature for 19. Toy Story is her favorite movie, Vogue is her favorite magazine, and when she’s in the mood for the munchies, chili cheese fries hit the spot. Okay, I really do love her. She’s down to earth, and doesn’t mind admitting that she can chow down on junk food. I have a good feeling about this one, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say she’ll get VERY far in the competition. I hope so!

Lluvy – Your guess is as good as mine – I have no idea how to say her name. Is it me, or are her eyes bugged out a little bit? I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing, since maybe she can make it work, but I’m just not seeing the beauty in her. Maybe it’s one of those “personality” things. Either way, maybe she looks better in photos. Since she has such a unique look, she will probably be around for quite a while. I don’t think she’s a “real contender” or that she’ll make the finals – but I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the final four or five.

Michelle – Total Diva and a TOTAL model-wannabe. A native of Terre Haute, IN, Michelle is only 19-years-old. The difference with her and the other 19-year-olds we have met so far is that she actually looks that young. She has this smug look on her face too – I’m not feeling her at all. Her occupation is wrestler? Oh dear Lord! Okay, I’m intrigued, but I still don’t think I like her yet. Maybe she will win me over. I think she’ll be around long enough to do just that. Not a winner, but not a quick one out either.

Naima – Naima is a 20-year-old waitress form Detroit, MI. Another sushi eater, Naima enjoys reading Vogue and her favorite TV show is Law & Order She’s very pretty, and that is evident. She has this exotic look going for her, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the finals. I think it’s meant to be this season – we haven’t had an “ethnic” girl in the finals yet, besides Mercedes, and I think we are due. She has the look to pull it off in person, so let’s see if she can back it up with the pictures. I think she’s going to be a favorite.

Noelle – We’re still getting over Norelle, and now we have a Noelle? This is all too confusing for me to handle! I mean, I’ll try, but it might be too much for me! Noelle is pretty, that’s for sure. She’s 20, a realtors assistant and comes to us from Reno, NV. She’s not really popping into my head as anyone special at this point, but for some reason I don’t think she is going early. Not a finalist, but definitely around long enough for us to get to know her. Hopefully that will be a good thing.

Rebecca – Rebecca is a former flight attendant that comes to us from Minneapolis, MN. She’s 22, and her favorite magazine is US Weekly, which to me, shows that she actually has a brain. Rebecca has this classic look that really draws you in. In a strange way, she reminds me of Kit, from A League of Their Own, only with blonder hair. Maybe I’m straying a little from the point here. My prediction is that she will either go out early or be one of the last girls standing. Her performance will predict where she lands, but I’m going to be optimistic. I like her!

Sarah – 22-year-old Sarah comes from Baltimore, MD. Hey, that’s where RNO’s own Sting7 comes to us from. Maybe they used to be “connected.” Who knows! Anyway, Sarah lists her occupation as a waitress. I, on the other hand, will continue to say that waiting tables is not an occupation – it’s a job, and there is a difference. Let me stop being bitter. Sarah is really pretty, and reminds me of Nicole from last season. That tattoo on her arm might cause some problems unless she is good at covering it up, but I’m sure the make-up people can do that for her. Let’s hope that she is more noticeable than Nicole was last season. I think she will be. My prediction? I’ll say she is around the 7th or 8th girl cut.

Tatiana – Ugh, I hate that name! She’s hot though – so give it up! Another waitress, Tatiana is from Maui, HI. She’s 18-years-old, lists Braveheart as her favorite movie and “programs on the History channel” as her favorite TV show. I don’t think she understood the question. My favorite part about her profile is that her favorite food is salad. People actually list that as their favorite food? That’s a rabbit’s favorite food, not a person. I’d list it as a favorite, as long as it has shrimp, beef, loads of dressing and everything else in it! You can cozy up to Tatiana, I think she’ll last a good while.

Tiffany – Nope. I’m not feeling this one at all. A mother, Tiffany is 22 and comes from Miami, FL. Wow, they sure did pick the Floridians this season, didn’t they? You can tell how ghetto she is when you read that her favorite food is “Popeye’s spicy wings.” That’s right – I said it, but I’m allowed too – I can be ghetto at times too. I have a feeling that Tiffany is going to try and be some kind of Nubian Queen that gets on everyone’s nerves, including mine. She’ll last for a good part of the competition, but has no chance of winning, mark my words!

So there you have it – a preview of the 14 girls who will be vying to win America’s Next Top Model 4. I don’t want to curse anyone by saying that they will win, because that will make them come in second. Therefore, I’m going to pick two girls! Naima or Brittany will be the winner – that is my prediction. However, Keenyah is my INSTANT favorite. I’m not so sure why yet, but I’m sure she’ll be a crowd favorite. At least – I hope so! America’s Next Top Model 4 premieres on March 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on UPN. Be there or be square – and then come and read my recaps, which are always chock full of my inside comments.
