Big Brother: All-Stars, July 23 Live Feeds – Floater vs. Power

by Saundra Katz -- 07/24/2006
The veto competition is done, but the discussion heats up about what will happen if the winner should use the power. Who will go up? A floater? A power player? James (right) has a lot of thinking to do, and a lot of people are willing to fill his brain with what they this is the right move. Warning: This article contains spoiler information!

Happy Sunday in the Big Brother House!

It’s a lazy Sunday morning for our houseguests. It seems they are becoming nocturnal and sleeping in later and later, and Big Brother is letting them.

It’s 10:10 am Big Brother Time before the first player is up! And it’s Mike Boogie. Within five minutes, Danielle wakes up and joins Mike in the kitchen to make coffee. Mike makes himself breakfast, making a LOT of noise while he does. Danielle enjoys a leisurely shower. Mike goes out to the backyard to eat.

Mike practices his speech to James and Kaysar, laying out all the scenarios and how he will guarantee safety. (I think Mike and James should talk alone without Kaysar. Kaysar will stick up for Janelle; James will be happy to throw her under the bus.)

“Next week you can't win the HOH and Kaysar can't play veto. [Note: Kaysar gave up his chance to play next time with this past veto competition.] Listen to this: you put up Marcellas to vote out when George uses the veto. Marcellas’ diva ass will leave. You will be safe next week… George the following week when he starts to lose it anyways. Will can go home the following week or next. If you don’t go for that, there’s a chance that you and Kaysar can go up on the block and then you have a one in five chance of winning the veto. Sounds good to me, I might have to tweak it not to sound so harsh.”

Still rehearsing, Mike tries it again.

“James, you, Will, and me talk to Kaysar. Next week you can't play HOH and Kaysar is now eligible to, leaving you in a vulnerable position. You put up Marcellas after George vetoes himself; everybody will keep Will, leaving people in the house that are not after you and will promise you safety for next week. Marcellas’ diva ass will only be nominated for a couple of days and we don't have to put up with his rantings. You are then left with no one in the house except Chicken George, who will be losing his mind from the slop diet. Let me put this another way: You’re afraid to nominate Marcellas, and you want to nominate me or Jase, which means that Will goes home this week. One of us is gonna’ win Head of Household and that will only give you a one in six chance of winning veto. If you don't win, you're going home.” I just wonder what makes Mike think that either he or Jase are guaranteed to win it this week, since they haven’t won an HOH competition yet!

After drying off and doing her morning routine, Danielle joins Mike out in the backyard for a coffee and a chat. She confides in Mike that she is stunned at how much Marcellas seems to be after her. Mike comments that he knows that Danielle is the type of person who would have left all bad feelings between them at the wrap party. Danielle agrees (… but is that really true?!). Mike also acknowledges that Marcellas carries a grudge.

Danielle is going on about how she told James not to put George up (as we saw in Sunday night’s episode). She had a bad feeling, she always goes with her gut, and she was right. They say that you cannot have a pawn in this season, it just won't work.

Danielle is giving Mike Boogie advice on how to talk to James. They discuss why Diane is still in the house, Danielle is talking in circles. She says that when you have an alliance in the house that is four strong, you find out what they want to do and then you do the opposite. She tells Mike Boogie that she was upfront with Kaysar about keeping Diane in the house.

Danielle says that Marcellas said he made a promise to Diane that he wouldn't ever vote Diane out. So Danielle goes to Diane and asks her if she had a deal with Marcellas, if he promised not to vote her out. Diane told her no. So Danielle wonders who is lying.

Danielle tells him that she asked Diane straight up if there was a Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Alliance. Diane told her that they met, they talked on the phone, and that was their agreement that they would work together. But he told her that they would work together for as long as they could. Danielle says Diane gave her too much information which in her opinion means that Diane is lying.

Danielle tells Mike Boogie that she called Jase out on the alliance with Diane. He didn't really give her any information, but he sure stayed up all night. Mike Boogie called Jase out in the storage room, but he totally denied it. Mike Boogie told him they are starting to ask him about it in the diary room, so that probably means that something is there.

Danielle says when she started to get nominated, she asked Jase if he had any alliances in the house and he said no; she just smirked at him. He said there are probably people working together, but...

Mike Boogie tells Danielle that Marcellas and Janelle are very tight. Danielle tells him that when he talks to Kaysar, do not mention Janelle. She tells him that when he goes to James to tell him that he is coming to him as a man and that he shouldn't tell anyone about this talk. She says that Kaysar will really respect that especially if you are upfront and honest.

Danielle says that the way she deals with Kaysar is being honest. That way he will know that when she says she is going to do something, it is done. Mike Boogie thinks that is the way to go.

Danielle tells him that Janelle was upstairs telling her to convince George not to use the veto. She laughs and says that she can't do that. He worked for that veto. Mike Boogie says he joked around about it, but heck, he shaved his head. Danielle agrees and mentions the fact that he is on the slop diet for 60 days. They have to respect that. They both agree that he can do it if anyone can. They feel he needs that money to send home to the family. They are sure he will do it. Danielle says to wait for America’s Choice; George will definitely win it. She tells him that in the diary room she said, “You think he is rolled in flour and done. No way.”

Danielle told James that when you nominate someone you don't have to make it ugly. You can call someone out and be respectful. Mike Boogie agrees. He says this is the first time for James to win, and he is feeling the power.

Danielle says she wanted to win that so bad, she really wanted it. Mike Boogie says he was standing up really wanting her to win it. But, things happen for a reason. Danielle says if she wins it she would be jumping, doing the splits, having her bootie hanging out and all. Mike Boogie says he will go in the pool. Celebrate it big.

She tells him that James actually said that if she got HOH he wasn't worried. They both have a laugh over that one. Danielle says she felt like putting her hand out and saying, "Hi, my name is Danielle, have you met me?" I do love this girl!

Mike Boogie asks her how Marcellas was in the competitions in her season. She tells him he was very good. She also says that she lost HOH competitions on purpose. She wasn't a target so there wasn't any reason to win. She finally won one because Jason was going home and she had to win. She told Jason that she would win it for sure and she did. She is explaining that competition to Mike Boogie. There were only four left and she had to win it then. That was the week that Amy went home.

Mike Boogie asks if there is ever a veto in the final four and Danielle tells him no. They discuss her season a bit more. She says that some people have compared her to Bin Laden. Not good.

Mike says to Danielle that he is so down with James but just can’t figure out why Marcellas is here; he’s negative. Danielle tells Mike that Marcellas looked her straight in her face yesterday and told her that he wasn’t coming after her. She knows that Marcellas is lying. Mike Boogie nods in agreement, saying that he thinks this is the best week to get Marcellas out. He claims that it’s a short week and that next week they can go after Chicken George. He draws Danielle in, saying that they need to convince him.

Danielle tells Mike that he has to talk to them. Mike says that James listens to Danielle, and it might be better for her to talk to him about this. Danielle denies that James listens to her. After all, she told him NOT to go after Chicken George, assuring James that if he did, George would win the veto. James went after him anyway, and George won the veto!

Mike asserts that he will definitely talk to Kaysar and James before tomorrow (the veto ceremony). Danielle confirms the timing, and Mike re-asserts that he’s going to do it. He then thanks Danielle for her input. Danielle tells him that if he is going to pitch Marcellas, Janelle can’t be in the room. She thinks that Janelle and Marcellas are tight and that Janelle might let the cat out of the bag.

It’s now early afternoon, and some of the other houseguests are finally awake. Danielle is cooking in the kitchen, while Chicken George is in the shower. Diane, Will, and Howie are also awake. Just before 1:00 pm Big Brother time, we get flames for a few minutes… it’s their wake-up call, and all the houseguests are now stirring, but not rising.

In the kitchen, Will compliments Diane on something she cooked. He then tells George that he’s certain that his slop will taste just as good. While George gets ready to prepare his slop, Danielle is making bacon. She wonders about how much her husband is missing her cooking at home. She then says that she wishes all the other houseguests were up. Will suggests that they go wake them.

Danielle, Will, and Diane are all chatting in the kitchen about the night before. Will thinks that Diane sounds like she’s getting sick. She claims that the big weather changes, from hot to cold, always make her sick. George goes outside to eat, while the three stay where they are. He tells the others how hot it is, before closing the sliding doors behind him.

At about 2:00 pm Big Brother time, Mike Boogie goes upstairs to the HOH room and asks James if he and Will can meet with him and Kaysar later. He makes it clear that they only want to meet with him and Kaysar. James consents; he can’t believe that it’s actually 2:00 in the afternoon already.

Will, Mike Boogie, and Jase are all out in the backyard. They are talking about strategy and going after Marcellas. Jase is trashing Janelle, saying that he wants her gone as he can’t stand to see her dumb ass any more. He also reminds Will and Mike that Diane is a bitch, straight up. The more Jase talks, the less I like him!

Janelle and Marcellas are in the red room. Marcellas is complaining about being bored and wanting his life back. He promises Janelle his vote at the end of the game. They then start talking about liposuction and eye cream, and other such beautification processes.

Meanwhile, out in the backyard, the guys are hanging out at the pool with Danielle. They’re all laughing and joking, but no game talk going on. Other feeds show Janelle, Howie, and Diane baking in the kitchen. It’s a lazy, lazy Sunday.

Different groups of people gather throughout the day in different pockets of the house, but not much game talk going on. At one point, out in the backyard, Will is telling Mike and Jase what to do to win after he leaves. Will tells them again (because we haven’t all heard it 100 times already) that if by week 5 he is not evicted, he will walk out and give up the money. He doesn’t want to go to sequester. I think they should just vote his butt out now! He doesn’t want to be there, and every other houseguest does. Get rid of him!

Early evening finds James and Chicken George in the HOH room discussing the veto competition. James tells George that he feels that the competition was designed especially for him.

James explains to George that he might have gone further in the competition, but couldn’t afford to give up his chance to play in the veto considering that he can’t even compete for Head of Household, and just wasn’t willing to put himself in a vulnerable position. He feels that Big Brother took away his pleasure as HOH. I can’t believe that James is still whining about this. The fact is James could have gone as far as George; he chose not to. George won fair and square!

He admits to George that up until the competition yesterday, James thought that George was just there to cook and clean until the end and that he just didn’t want someone like that to win the game. But after his competition performance yesterday, he realizes that George is there to play. There you go, James – as hard as it is to admit, James, give the man the credit he deserves! Good boy!

Erika comes in, interrupting them, and James asks for a few more seconds alone with George. James ends the conversation by telling George that if someone nominates him down the line, he should take it from someone who knows, and don’t take it personally.

There is some tomfoolery going on and some laughs, until Jase threatens to set the Jenga game pieces on fire and then sprays the fire extinguisher for no reason. Of course, he is called to the diary room. When Jase returns he tells Will that Big Brother told him that if they burn the Jenga game, they will not getting any alcohol this evening, and will never get another game as long as they are in the house. Will and Jase decide they should call a house meeting to discuss it, but their conversation is interrupted when Big Brother announces that their food competition feast is in the storage room.

As everyone is eating, Will brings up burning the Jenga game. Everyone is fine with burning it, but Will fails to mention what Big Brother had told Jase in the diary room. What does Will care? He’s leaving soon anyway! You are evil, Dr. Will! Eventually Jase and Will come clean about the punishment should they choose to burn the game.

After dinner, Mike Boogie and Will go up to the HOH room to talk with James and Kaysar. Will goes into the bathroom and is in there when Kaysar arrives for this meeting. Meanwhile, downstairs, Jase confront Marcellas about talking about him and his bad rapping in the bathroom. Marcellas vehemently denies this, and a small verbal altercation ensues. It’s over as quickly as it started, with Marcellas leaving the living room, going into the kitchen, and telling Diane that he thinks this is bull$#!t.

Back upstairs, in the HOH room, Will changes the seating arrangement, presumably for the cameras. He positions them so that he and Mike can see James and Kaysar very directly… a good way to read body language and not miss any silent communication between the two season 6ers. The discussion begins with some chit chat about George and how nervous he was at the competition. James stubbornly says that he was faking it. James, get over it! It’s beginning to cloud your better judgment!

Mike Boogie then gets straight to the heart of the matter and asks James what he is planning to do. James admits, honestly, that he really doesn’t know. Mike begins his “speech” with the preamble that he would like this discussion to stay between the four of them – men to men – and that the other houseguests don’t need to know what they talk about. I guess that doesn’t include Jase and George, who heard them talking about his planned conversation earlier by the pool, hmmm? Will tells them that the other houseguests know there is a major conversation going on up here and are very nervous. Mike plays with the spy screen, to be sure they are not interrupted without a warning.

The discussion goes as Mike had practiced. He makes his case for putting Marcellas up instead of himself or Jase. He makes promises to do whatever season 6 wants him to at the next HOH competition. He offers that if season 6 wants them to win the competition, they will, and if season 6 wants them to throw the competition on the first question or at the first opportunity, they will. I’m more than a little astonished that Mike and Will seem to think that they have this kind of control over the game; they haven’t proven themselves capable up until now.

Mike goes on, trashing Marcellas to bits and saying that he is negative and needs to go. He reminds them that Marcellas might have a hissy fit and be difficult to live with, but James assures them that he can play either of two ways and that if Marcellas were to get nasty, he could be just as mean. Nice play, James. They think you’re considering their offer.

Will makes it clear that he is going to leave before sequester. He says at one point that he doesn’t want to bring Howie into the conversation because he would just try to hump the red chair and not be able to take part in what they’re discussing. He goes on to say that that Janelle is like a mannequin and he can’t get anything out of her.

James warns them about “throwing the Head of Household competition” because one of the floaters could win it, and then where would they be? James really doesn’t think a floater will come after the season 6 folks, because they know there would be a really good chance they would go home the following week. It’s more likely they’ll go after Will and Boogie, because there is much less danger of them being able to retaliate swiftly. For all his whining over the past couple of days, Jame really is a very strategic gamer.

James also says that if he puts up Marcellas, the entire house will think that season 6 and Chill Town are together. Will retorts that so much the better because then there are six of them and that makes them even a bigger threat. James knows it makes them a bigger target. Mike Boogie says that season 6 was smart to make their alliance, and should be smart enough to get some help from Chill Town. And just when James was starting to buy it, too! Bad move, Mike!

There are a few interruptions during this conversation. Erika comes up to offer wine, goes back downstairs to get a glass of white for James, and then returns, leaving again right after. Howie also comes in, but is asked to leave for a few minutes so they can finish. He makes a couple of jokes as he slowly leaves the room, but you can tell that he is a little put out by what he perceives to be going on.

Janelle comes in and they all chit chat for a couple of minutes. Will and Mike thank James and Kaysar for the talk and go downstairs to join the others, calling up Howie as they go.

Diane and Jase are at the pool. Diane claims that she is still putting up the season 6 if she gets HOH. They are talking crap on Erika. Diane tells Jase that he cannot go; he is all she has... Jase replies, I know. And the Mr. and Mrs. Smith alliance is confirmed!

Jase says that he hates Janelle so bad. He says she is a f**king prostitute. She plays the game hardcore. Diane asks, “Why do you think I wanted her out the first week?” Jase says if he goes this week that it’s fine because he hates it here. Diane says she hates it too. Jase says that they had a good season.

Jase says that the whole reason for calling out Marcellas at dinner was to show he was unstable and they would get rid of him. Jase says that Diane is the person that he wants to talk to the most, but she is also the one he can't.

Mike Boogie comes over and Jase asks him why they sent for Erika. Mike tells them that they are trying to get the votes to get out Marcellas. Jase wonders if they were cool with it and Mike assures him they were, and then walks away.

Jase says that his diary room this year is over the top compared to his season; he actually has to suppress it this time. Diane says she knows it. After a brief musical interlude (flames), we’re back to Jase and Diane by the pool. Diane says she should get back to Danielle. She wonders what to tell her. Jase suggests that Diane just tells her that he was upset and she was just talking to him because of that.

Back in the HOH room, Kaysar and James tell Janelle and Howie everything that was discussed, in complete detail. So much for keeping it just between the four “men” in the conversation. They all agree that putting up and taking out Marcellas is not an option. James has a good laugh about them guaranteeing to win or lose the HOH competition, especially considering their past performance. I have to agree – it is rather laughable!

Janelle and Kaysar are again making a case to put up Jase. Janelle tells them that Marcellas and Erika are both worried about Jase, and James tells them adamantly that it is not their job to take care of the floaters. Janelle agrees, but only to a point, as Erika and Marcellas both think that they are with the season 6 people. Because of this, she wants to bring them up to ask their opinion. James doesn’t want to give up any control, but admits that as long as they are using these two floaters for their votes, they do need to make them feel secure and part of the group… for now.

They bring Erika in and discuss who should be put up. James tells her that they are split between Mike Boogie and Jase and ask who she thinks should go. She throws out Jase’s name very quickly, reasoning that even Chill Town is afraid of him, and that by getting him out, it breaks up any possible Mr. and Mrs. Smith Alliance. When Marcellas comes up, they ask him his opinion and he says he doesn’t really care as long as it’s one of the frat boys guys (referring to Chill Town… Will, Mike, or Jase). He further reasons that Jase is the best one to go as he is the most dangerous of that alliance.

Danielle comes into the room, claiming to have heard screaming, so she wanted to see what was going on. She is such a clever girl! I would give her the money right now! She joins the discussion, asking pointed questions that sway the others’ thinking. She gets them to realize that Will and Mike probably couldn’t win a Head of Household competition, which by deduction, would mean that Jase can… TARGET hit!

A little later, the household begins another episode of Drunkfest 2006.

Diane, Howie, and James are all in the HOH bedroom. Diane says she wants to be a part of stuff, to know what is going on. Diane says that Howie was coming down and getting everyone and no one got her. It was like everyone had appointments. James tells her she doesn't need an appointment; he has told her a million times she is always welcome. Diane says that she comes up and then everyone else leaves. James tells her that Janelle went to play badminton, and Kaysar got called to the diary room.

James says that Danielle told him the same thing that Diane is saying, in that he should do what he wants to do and don't let anyone tell him what he should do. Anyone who tries to tell him what to do has their own agenda. Diane agrees.

They don't want a “Cowboy “ to win this year. Diane says that is George. James tells them that isn't true; he proved himself yesterday. Each time he says it, it becomes more and more sincere.

Diane tells them that she really likes those guys, asking if they like her, and of course they do. She asks James if Sarah likes her and he tells her she does. Diane says that people on the outside don't even recognize her, even her insurance agent, and she just sold her insurance like six months ago. Diane says that she just dyed her hair black for the hell of it, to get rid of her skunk stripes.

The rest of the night is spent with different groups chatting about their plans. At one point, all three members of Chill Town are talking in the bug room, saying that if the season 6ers do put up Marcellas, they are stupid, because with Chill Town three strong, plus Diane, they could really make some noise in the house.

In another corner of the house, season 6 is chatting about the deal. Kaysar and Janelle are really pushing for someone from Chill Town, preferably Jase, to go up. They don’t think they need to go after Marcellas right now; they would rather Danielle do that when (not if) she wins HOH.

Season 6 is talking themselves around in circles. They are looking at all the pros and cons for keeping Marcellas over Erika. They are also looking at the pros and cons for keeping Jase or Mike Boogie.

James says that if they go after Erika, they are going after someone who has voted with them and who hasn’t sold them out. Janelle says she has sold them out by taking credit for keeping Diane in the house. Kaysar says Erika and Marcellas have both sold them out in different ways to different degrees, but they knew that they were going to sell them out eventually. James says if they go after Marcellas, it looks like a direct stab at the floaters, but they have rational motives to give for getting rid of him.

Janelle asks why they don’t just go with the original plan and get rid of Mike Boogie then? Howie agrees. Janelle says they don’t want Mike Boogie, Will, and Jase to do the same thing to them as the Nerd Herd did last year. She says they will look so stupid if they fall for that same thing again. Janelle says that they shouldn’t be believing anything that Chill Town is telling them.

Janelle thinks they should go to Chill Town and tell them that they love the deal they have offered, but unfortunately, they have to vote out one of Chill Town this week, but next week, Chill Town can work with them, merge together, and take out the floaters. James says they will never do that because they aren’t doing Chill Town any favors this week. Janelle says that Chill Town didn’t do them any favors during the veto competition either.

They all agree now that they could pretty much be f**ked, no matter which way they go or what they decide to do. Any way they go could come back to bite them. They are now trying to count the votes for this week’s eviction.

Kaysar brings up that if they put up Will and Mike Boogie, and Chill Town goes to the floaters and tell them that BB6 offered them this deal and they didn’t take it (that would be why two Chill Town members would be up on the block), and tell the floaters that the BB6 alliance was trying to get them (Chill Town) to work with the BB6ers to take out all the floaters, Chill Town might be able to sway all the floaters to their side. They decide that they can’t take out a floater. They believe that Chill Town is trying to get them to take out a floater this week so that they can flip the game next week. They all agree that it is too early in the game to make a stupid move like this. Howie says that as much trouble as Marcellas is to them, he is more trustworthy to them than Chill Town is, and they just have to go after one of their biggest adversaries right now.

Kaysar thinks that even if Will really does want to leave, he is probably trying to set Mike Boogie up for the long haul. Howie says it is so early in the game; they need to keep the floaters because one of them just might win head of household still, and they need to try to keep them in the house because they are not a direct threat to the BB6 folks, where Chill Town is.

Janelle thinks they have to get Marcellas and Erika to commit to vote Mike Boogie out over Will. She says Mike Boogie can still swing it to get the floaters to stick with him and go after the BB6ers. Kaysar asks James if they can get Danielle to commit to vote Mike Boogie out? James says yes. He says Danielle will vote out whichever one they want her to vote out. Janelle says they have to secure the votes to get Mike Boogie out before veto ceremony tomorrow. They decide that if they can get Erika and Danielle to commit to vote Mike Boogie out, they don’t even have to talk to Marcellas and fight with him to vote how they want.

James says they didn’t form to bully the house; the house bullied them into being together. They all agree. Kaysar asks Howie if Marcellas ever came to him with any deals before they came in the house? Howie says no. Kaysar says Marcellas didn’t contact him either. Kaysar says he's sure Marcellas contacted Janelle (the camera isn’t on her, and she doesn’t say anything, so I don’t know), and James says that Marcellas text messaged him and told him that he (Marcellas) will have his back, trying to get a mutual understanding. He says he just asked Marcellas in response, "in what?"

James is going to see who is still awake because he has to talk to Diane (about what Erika told her), and secure the votes from Danielle and Erika. Janelle wants him to bring the people up to the HOH room. Kaysar says they can’t do that because it comes across as intimidation and they don’t want to do that.

Kaysar asks James if he's sure that Danielle will commit to vote the way they want though, because of her whole theory about putting up two people and not caring which one goes, not trying to secure votes one way or the other, etc. James leaves.

Janelle says how stupid they would have been if they had taken out a floater like Chill Town wanted them to (and they came VERY close to doing just that).

James is telling Diane and Danielle that he came in the house basically wanting to play Big Brother by himself this time around, but when the whole house was all riled about "the four" and they were perceived as being together to begin with, he really didn’t have any choice. He is telling them about his newfound respect for George, and tells them that George apologized for the whole rap once he (James) explained where he was coming from, wanting to put people up that he didn’t think were playing the game, and at that point, he didn’t think George was playing the game. He tells them that George told him that he gained a little bit of respect for James when James was trying to walk him through eating the slop in the veto competition. They're talking about soft spots on people’s heads now.

Janelle is telling Kaysar and Howie that she is dating an Air Force guy, but she doesn’t call him her boyfriend; she calls him "Big Daddy." Kaysar asks if that is like his Air Force name? Janelle says it is.

James says they haven’t called him into the diary room even once today. He says he tried to go in last night and apologize, but they wouldn’t let him in. Danielle is telling them that in her season, Chiara was pissed because she won Head of Household and the very next week, they brought Amy back and Chiara was like – if she had known they were going to do that, she wouldn’t have bothered trying to win HOH that week; she would have waited until later to do it. James says that was a twist, though. Erika joins them on the couches. James thinks Big Brother is probably portraying him like Eric. Danielle tells him that no matter how they try to spin him, he has someone out there that knows him for him, and says that Sarah loves him. James asks her sarcastically if he should put this on a Hallmark card? She says that people can think whatever they want about her, but she knows that her kids, her husband, her brother, etc., all know her for her and everyone else can kiss her ass.

There’s a lot more discussion going on. Season 6 is worried that if they put up Mike, that Will will rally to get himself voted out, and that the floaters may just do that. They might not be smart enough to remember that if Will really wants to go, that represents a free week right before the jury selection. They then talk about putting Jase up and telling Marcellas that they did that for him.

There is more talking throughout the night, but predominantly it’s the season 6ers confirming with themselves that they made the right decision.

As all the houseguests settle down for the night, I too am off to bed.

Happy houseguest watching!
