Survivor: Cook Islands – Who Will Go in Episode 12?by Wesley Rice -- 12/07/2006
This prediction article is going to be over pretty fast. There's not much that can be said. It's either Adam or Parvati. Oh sure, the previews tried to insinuate Jonathan, but he's just too tempting as a final two opponent for anybody to get rid of him yet. With a numbers advantage of five to two and the Exile immunity in Yul's hand, the Aitu alliance has an enormous advantage at this point. Raro's only hope now is to convince some players like Sundra and Ozzy that they are on the outside of their alliance and need to switch to go further. However, Yul's immunity screws up this plan for Adam and Parvati as well. The best they can offer Ozzy and Sundra is a fivesome (which they already have). So it's going to come down to immunities for them this time around. Now let's see what the CBS promos have to say. Number 1: One Survivor is seriously hurt when they slice their finger with a machete, forcing the medical team to arrive at camp. How will this injury affect their position in the game? The poor grammar continues in these promos. I understand CBS's reasoning, however. They need a gender neutral term like "their" to maintain mystery. Not the best of arguments, but it does clarify the issue. So who's going to get hurt? Parvati has already proven that she's about as skilled with a machete as Adam is at insightful strategy, so she could clearly be the victim. However, something makes me feel like it just might be Ozzy. I could see him getting overzealous swinging that knife. Whoever it is, though, I don't believe this will send them home. It won't be a Michael Skupin or Bruce moment where the injury is so severe that the Survivor has to leave the island. The medics will stop by, patch it up, and leave. Any indication otherwise is just a red herring from the editors. As for how it will affect his/her position in the game, a hand injury could be devastating for a manual challenge. And if it's the challenge horse Ozzy, he might be in immense peril after the two remaining Raroans are eliminated. Number 2: One alliance devises a plan to hide food from their competing tribe members. In an effort to make them hungry and weak. Will they succeed in breaking down their fellow tribemates? It would make sense that Raro would try this tactic as revenge for Dinnergate. However, that would require Raro to find food first, which I highly doubt will happen. More likely it's Aitu continuing their petty displays of superiority. Hey, I'm all for pointing out people's laziness and getting it done oneself. But rubbing it in will only serve to anger future jury members. Number 3: At the reward challenge, surprise guests arrive to help the Survivors compete for the opportunity to take part in a local ceremony and feast. All right! It must be time for the family visits. And I love it when they help each other in the challenges. But what's up with the reward? Didn't I see that one about, say, oh two weeks ago? If they're already recycling rewards, what's next? Number 4: At the immunity challenge, balance and agility are assets. Who can maneuver their way to victory? Normally, I'd say this challenge would belong to one of the women (likely Parvati). However, Ozzy has proven himself to be quite the competitor when it comes to balance and agility. So this time I'm sticking with him (unless he is the one who receives the injury and hurts his hand so badly with the machete). That leaves Adam and Parvati to vote out. I'm going to say Adam once again. He clearly demonstrated his threat level when he won immunity last time. If he does so again, then I'm guessing Parvati's time is up as the default. Watch with me this Thursday to see if I'm right once again. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out these other recent Survivor: Cook Islands articles here on RealityNewsOnline:
