“I Just Kept Getting Deeper into Emotions” – An Interview with Big Brother 8’s Nick

by David Bloomberg -- 08/03/2007
Nick came in with a game plan, but it went kaput within about three days. What happened? Why couldn’t he get back on his game? How does he think Daniele will do now that he’s gone? And what does he think of people like Dick and Jen? Nick answers all these questions and more, right here!

It was fairly obvious to viewers that Nick had forsaken his game plan for Daniele. But here Nick explains just what happened and why he couldn’t recover. He also talks about his thoughts on the future of the house and numerous other topics, so read on.

RealityNewsOnline: What was your strategy coming into the game?

Nick: I thought I could be very buddy buddy with the guys, which for the most part I was. For the girls I wanted to flirt with them. That lasted three days until I got to know Daniele. I became intellectually and emotionally involved with her and that switched up my whole game completely.

RNO: In what way?

Nick: Basically, as soon as I met Daniele, I became emotionally involved and I wasn’t going to wrong her in any way. I was there for her.

RNO: Why couldn’t you get back on your game?

Nick: I just kept getting deeper into emotions with myself and Daniele. I couldn’t foresee myself hurting her in any sort of way.

RNO:Why did you continue to pursue Daniele even though you knew she had a serious relationship outside the house?

Nick: Just because it was a good feeling. Inside the house tension is high and there is a lot of stress. It wasn’t all one-sided. We had a good situation. I wasn’t going to push the envelope. I waited for her to give me the green light. As soon as she did, I was all for it.

RNO:How do you think Daniele will do now that you’re out of the house?

Nick: I think she’ll do a lot better in terms of the game. If I were in there and Daniele was going, I’d do a lot better. I might have hindered her as well. We spent a lot of time secluded together and I think that hurt us both on the whole. So I think she’ll do a lot better without me there.

RNO:What is your take on the whole iced tea incident with Dick and Jen?

Nick: I loved it! Truthfully, I missed the whole situation, but when I found out, I giggled a little bit. Then I went in my room and giggled some more.

RNO:What do you think of Jen in general?

Nick: In general, not a big fan of Jen. She’s very self-involved. That gets a little annoying to me. Every day, she’ll talk about herself 24/7 if you let her. That gets on your nerves after a while.

RNO:How about Dick?

Nick: I’m a big fan of Dick. He’s a nice guy – I got to know him on a different level than most of the houseguests. I like the fact that he’s very opinionated and speaks his mind. I think he takes it to an extreme sometimes. Some of it’s deserved with Jen, but not to the level he takes it. On the whole, I like Dick as a person.

RNO:In particular, what do you think of the relationship between Dick and Daniele?

Nick: Oooh. I wasn’t sure about that relationship. I thought that may be part of the twist. In the house, it looked like they had good rapport. I thought they were faking the whole thing in terms of fighting. I thought it was all an act. In the end, I hope they right the wrong and figure everything out. I think a family’s love is the main thing.

RNO:It seemed pretty obvious that you knew you would be going home before the votes were cast. Did the others tell you?

Nick: I kind of just touched base with certain people. I could trust Amber so I talked to her. I told her to make the decision on how she thought it was going to go. From her response, I could tell. In the end, I found out who voted me out and it was a few people I wasn’t expecting.

RNO:Is the current (Late Night Crew) alliance in the house obvious?

Nick: Yeah, it’s very obvious. A lot of people who aren’t part of the Late Night Crew are kind of frightened by it. Every night I saw them going around, but I didn’t worry about it. I needed my sleep, so why stress about it?

RNO:How long do you give it before they all break up and fight against one another?

Nick: I’d say a week. I think people are on their own and something’s about to implode. Maybe two weeks. I think people are on to Eric. And I think Jen’s still a target.

RNO: When you say people are on to Eric, what do you mean?

Nick: I think after last week, people thought it was me who cast that stray vote. This week, I think there’s a lot of smart people and they will figure out Eric was the stray vote this week.

RNO: What do you think about the America’s player twist?

Nick: I like the twist. I’m a big fan of Eric. At first I wasn’t sure about him, because he was a little weird. He’s a good guy, they couldn’t have picked a better person to play the role of that twist.

RNO: What did you think of the enemies twist?

Nick: I was ready for it because people had talked about it – it had been blogged about and talked about in the house. We were kind of expecting it and we were ready for it. I thought it was a good twist.

RNO: Is there anything else you want to tell us about your time in the Big Brother house?

Nick: Just that it was very enjoyable. I want to thank all the fans who support us unknown people who are in the house.

RNO: Thanks, Nick!
