The Apprentice 3, Episode 17 Extras: You’re Still Here? It’s Over!

by Jenn Brasler -- 05/23/2005
Like Ferris Bueller said, it’s over. We should all go home. Why are we still here, watching extra footage and repeated scenes? There are only three new scenes, so if you have a few minutes, step inside and learn a little more about Tana and Kendra.

This should be quick and painless.

First, we see Trump’s little advertisements for the Miss Universe pageant job and the house renovation job in Palm Beach. Remember, this week’s episode was live, so there’s nothing new in these ads.

Next, we follow Tana home to Iowa, where she gets ready to do some Mary Kay selling. She explains that she keeps a basket of Mary Kay stuff in her car, and when she sees a car dealership, she’ll pull over and do some selling.

She adds that she’s also written a children’s book, which somehow has something to do with her growing up with two supportive parents. I don’t know. Tana goes to a school and reads to some kids, telling them that they can do anything they want. Maybe Tana will pursue a career in motivational speaking. No, wait, don’t listen to me, Tana. Ignore that.

Tana thinks that she should be the apprentice because of all her business experience. I’m surprised that we didn’t see the executives grilling her about this during the interviews, like they did with Craig, because Tana’s started a lot of companies in a lot of different areas. We also see Tana at home with her husband and kids.

Kendra, on the other hand, lives in Florida. She says that real estate is not just a career, it’s a lifestyle. Her clients come to her to help them invest in real estate because they want to have money to send their kids to college or ensure their retirement - they want to improve their lives. We see Kendra talking on the radio, as she’s the co-host of a real estate investment talk show. She says that she’s a visionary because she creates opportunities.

Kendra says that if there’s anything negotiable she can do for her clients, she’ll do it. She thinks that she has everything that Trump wants in an apprentice. “I rock,” she says. That you do, Kendra.

Again, we see Trump rain praise down on Kelly and Bill. There’s also a clip of the entire recap from the beginning of the episode, so if you want to watch that whole 16-minute thing again, be my guest. The next four clips are various scenes from the episode, of Carolyn and George and the fired candidates talking.

Finally, we get an ad for NYC2012. A hard hat-clad Trump stands on a construction beam and tells us about Liliya Podkopayeva, a Ukrainian gymnast who scored a 9.8 on the beam in the 1996 Olympics. He describes parts of her routine, which she performed on a beam one-third the width of the one Trump is standing on, and without a harness. “The Olympic Games in New York,” says Trump. “Now that I’d like to see.” Does that mean he’s not impressed that Podkopayeva did back flips on a 4-inch wide beam? I’d like to see him try.

Well, that’s it for The Apprentice 3! I’m sure if Trump were here, he’d tell you to watch The Apprentice 4 this fall. I wonder what the gimmick will be this time around. Personally, I’d like to see five-year-olds vs. adults, since I think the kindergarteners would be more emotionally mature than most of the adults. Anyway, see you when Trump graces us with his presence again!
